Ok, The ride is drawing nearer and the camp grounds are probably being reserved, if your coming you need to get your site booked now!

I'm in for sure with 4 people on my camp site and 3 more next to me. I can't wait! Nothing better then hanging out with club members and doing a little riding.

With some luck I'll even be sporting a new trike. If that works out then you can beat on the EX Sloth!

As far as I know, Brandon and I are in. Still sorting out the baby sitter thing, but should be good to go. I'd imagine we'll be arriving with the Halls, since his place is on the way. Plus we have to get some spark arrestors and paddles from him.

me and my buddy are going to try to make it
ive got a set of kenda dunetracker paddles 22" dia. 8 or 10 paddles i dont rember on a 10" rim ( width i dont rember either ) mounted on douglas blue labels dual bolt pattern 4x110 and ( 4x115 i got to double check this one to)

I asked a buddy of mine that goes to SL about twice a year for what to expect. Here's what he had to say:



process goes like this: for sat&sun get a voucher the night before (that morning if it's not supose to be a busy weekend) from the building up the street. There you will need to give them your license plate number and you get a voucher, it's free. The vouchers are for parking lot crowd control - different times for differnet vouchers. Show up the morning and present your voucher

They will ask if you have a State sticker for each machine you plan on taking into the dunes, you say no, they sell you how many stickers you need right there at the entrance booth, $16 each vehicle. Then they ask if you have a daily pass, you say no and they sell one for $6 for all machines, duning or not. then you go on thru.

Then you're in the parking lot either unload or drive straight to the dune entrance booth. they look for state park sticker on machines (the yearly $16 one), LOOK for SA on machines, ask you if you have a cooler and if there is beer in it (they don't even look inside), make sure your flag hits the 10 foot bar and your in.

if you are going on sat or sun get your voucher the night before, that place gets pretty busy on weekends during the main summer months and parking spaces go fast. If you drive straight out there (dune ready vehicle) it's easier but still need a voucher


Sounds like a little red tape but over all not bad. I was joking that it will be nice when all this silly worring will be over and he said as soon as you hit the sand you'll see it's all worth it.

Does anyone whos coming have a machine I could borrow on the sunday?. On the Saturday im gonna be running on Franks 400ex, But hes leaving Sunday morning.

Im no extreme rider and wont be trying anything huge at the dunes. Only a few backflips:lol: Really anything will do. Just dont want to sit and watch on the sunday ;)

If you got a machine you wouldnt mind lending out that would be awesome, ill pay for all the gas etc I use ;)

I got that same camera for fifty bucks. You can find them for even cheaper on ebay. Just get your favorite snipe program setup.

All ready here! Got the 400ex out today, went over it and got it ready. Also mounted the paddles on the 84r. I would like to do a little more to the R before I take it out on a ride but I just can't pass on doing some triking in the dunes. It's going to be a blast.
