Ok so went down to the local spot were i find all my goodies. After looking for somethings for our bigred i asked about if they had any atc 90's in the back? They said they had 2 of them. One was red and other was blue. Both had tubular gold anonadized frames. The blue one is supposebly to be complete with everything and he would sell it for $250? Any 90 guys out there...is this a good deal?? The guy there said the original 90 frames were junk and they replaced them with these tubular frames? He called them like"sandmashers or sand...somethings". Can someone help me with some info on these darn frames? I dont know maybe i should just go pick it up what do you think?

If I could see pictures of the frames they could probably be identified. Many companies made frames for the atc90\atc110 and all were much sturdier than a stock honda frame. Some were steel and some were chromoly. A chromoly frame is lighter than steel and they were usually gold anodized. Most of the steel tube frames were painted different colors. Some of the tube frames were even made with rear suspension which is very nice. If the frames had rear suspension and you wouldn't want to keep them I would be interested in buying. Most of the aftermarket frames were usually 3 inches longer than a stock frame which helped with adults fitting on them better and improved handling. There were many trick parts, like bore and stroke kits which would make an atc90\atc110 about 180ccs' with the biggest of the kits. If you've never ridden a 180cc atc110 with ridgid suspenion, it is quite an experience. Those stroker trikes were the first racers before the 185s and 250r came into existence. For as cheap as they are, they are worth having, and at least reselling if not keeping. Please get pictures and keep me in mind if you want to resell either one. Thanks and Good Hunting.

if "YOU" think their worth it...it doesn't matter what someone else thinks...

I've seen alot of requests here for aftermarket frames for 90's/110's ...you shouldn't have a problem selling them...

rigid frame Jokers are as common as Banditos...whats "rare" is a full suspension Joker:welcome: :welcome:

In another words you think its not worth it? So if i had it would you buy it for $200 (BLUE ONE)?

no...I didn't say it's a bad deal.....

I've seen Banditos go for 35 bucks (frame only) but thats only because of my location. In addition, have seen other frames such as 90/110 Nicholsons go for 100 bucks on Egay....

Its all about location...certain ATC's are common in one part of the US and RARE in another part

the stock ATC frame 90/110 flexes alot and tend to break or crack around the upper rear engine mounts, if someone had a complete 90/110 and had a busted or cracked frame, and lived in an area of the US where aftermarket frames are RARE....I would think that spending 200 bucks on a Joker would be a no brainer.......

what blows my mind is that when I see a suspension 70 or 90/110 frame up for sale...they usually bring in more than a "G":TrikesOwn :TrikesOwn :welcome:

VEALMONKEY's got a nice collection:w00t: :w00t: :welcome:

Either one of those bikes would make a nice atc90\atc110. I wouldn't use the balloon tire parts though. Balloon tires are quite pricey. I would find all the drive train parts from a later, 77-79 atc so you could have a better choice of wheels and tires. If you use the front engine mount on top of the head from an atc90, you can put an atc110 engine in it. A nice exhaust and a cam and you would have a neat little cruiser. You and your friend could make a matching pair of bikes if you wanted. The solid rear axle frames are more common than the suspension frames, but they still make nice machines. $200 might be a little steep since you will have to put alot of work into the trike and getting different pieces for the rear end and it's hard to say how much you will end up putting into the engine to get it running, but it would be a cool machine.

Thank you Mymint, but your'e still teasing me sitting on the mother lode. I have the stroker 180 engine put together I'm just working on the frame right now. I'm not happy with the front engine mount on my frame, but it will have to do. The frames just aren't quite as common over on my side as they are on yours. Have you purchased any of those suspenion frames yet, HINT.

Alot of the crabs around here have been coming from down south. I'm sure we could fly 'em to Cali just as much as we can fly 'em to here. $200 a bushell over the July 4th Holiday.

Just check out the 70 on this page.

That thing is sweet. If you could do something like that with it then I think it would be well worth it.

With an aftermarket frame, it's not like restoring a regualar atc90. People customized the heck out of them. They gave them wild paintjobs, wheeliebars, bigbore engines, different wheels and tires and all kinds of things. There is no real particular way to restore an aftermarket frame. It would be like trying to restore an aftermaket t-bucket, they were wide open to modifications. There were entire dune clubs that had the same basic frame and they were all different. Different paint, different sized engines, different pipes, different wheels and tires etc.
