84 big red won't run past idle

I've just got my 84 200es Big Red going again. It starts with half of a pull, but I can't accelerate at all. I've tried to adjust the screws but with no luck. Any ideas?

Sounds like the main jet is plugged, but pull the fuel line off at the carb & make sure you have good flow there first. If you do, pull the carb & give it a good cleaning.

I had the carb off and put it in the parts cleaner tub and I think it is very clean, but I'll make sure that the fuel is flowing. I did clean the lines but they may have picked up something at the bottom of the tank.

Also, which screw should I turn to adjust anything? The one on the side is about 1-7/8 turns out. The one under, or by the float bowl, is at 2 turns out.

I agree with the fuel flow check. Many times if your petcock is gummed up your motor will start but won't run long or stall when you throttle up because the fuel can't flow through quick enough but when you have it off enough fuel will trickle into your carb. Make sure you use compressed air with lots of pressure to blow all the jets clear in your carb while it's off your machine.

The one on the side is your idle speed adjustment screw, the trike will have to be running to set that one correctly. Do not try screwing it in without pushing on the throttle at the same time or you might scar up the side of the carb slide.
The other one is your idle mixture screw that you use to fine tune the air / fuel mixture at idle. You also need the trike running to set it but 2 turns out is a good starting point.
