honda big red 250es

recently i was towing a buddy out of the woods with my big red 250es, I was towing only a honda 185 and i towed it for about 1 and a half hours and then quit running and i couldnt get it started, so i ended up getting towed as well, so i got it home wated till the next morning and it started up and ran just as good as ever but only ran for 1 minute and died and them i couldnt get it started again, so what is my problem?

have you checked for spark and gas?

yes it has great spark and is getting gas, im thinking that the magneto or the coil get overly hot when the engine warms up and then they overheat and then once the engine cools so does the coil or magneto therefore it will only run for a minute, is this a good idea or am I way off?

so help me out here i need to fix my rig really soon, it will only run when the engine is cold and willl only run for a minute until the engine warms up, i really need to fix this thing ASAP.

i figured out what was wrong with it, the sediment bowl on the bootom of the petcock had quite a bit of dirt in it, and the dirt was getting sucked into the carb, so i cleaned the carb and that small sediment bowl, and she ran beautiful just like it was before.

I was going to suggest your gas cap vent .. lol... that had to be a fuel problem
