personally, I would never own a blaster, theres a reason why you can pick um up so cheap, in bulk!
If their cheap, and for your girlfriend to do some easy riding, I say go for it.
heck, if the price was right i would break down and buy one.
yea i can get one really cheap, runs well never abused but has been sitting for like three years and the carb got pirated for something else, but i remeber it running well.

Great little machines, loads of aftermarket. I'd never own one but I'm a pretty big guy.

They are a great machine. Good power, good suspension, good handling for a smaller quad. If your a big guy I wouldn't buy one you'll just be to cramped. I enjoy riding them little small for me (I'm 5'11" 190)but I love the way I can throw them around.
With a pipe, intake they have craploads of power.
I know the brakes are kind of a problem with them always need adjusted.

They are awesome machines. A simple pipe, jetting and abox change and your good to go. Not to mention Banshee parts are real cheap and can upgrade a Blaster to real hyd brakes.
If you are 5-8" and under you should fit will. At 5-10" I felt cramped on it but still loved it. My exgf was able to ride it with no problem and there is a thrttle limiter if she needs to get use to it, good lock!

i have had my blaster for well over two years, bought it used, put some money into it to improve looks and handling, a bit into the motor over two years ago, and have not had a bit of a problem at all with mine. the thing starts first or second kick everytime. and i ride it faithfully everyweekend and i ride it hard. it will keep up with my bros quadracer and walks on many warriors and other bikes. the thing is just bad *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited*.

Honestly, I could care less about the money. It's the fact that he lied and stole from me, even 1$ is too much. If just one person doesn't buy from him because of that statement then thats repayment enough...

get it and i'll trade you my 350x for it.
what!? ARE YOU SERIOUS!? man if I had a 350x you would have to kill me before I would trade it for a blaster, and any ways its going to be fo rmy girlfreind, She hates my R but feals safer on a quad, plus a blaster is just right for her, speed and size. why would you want to trade, how much just to sell?

I just want something that my kids can ride and i can still have alittle fun on. The X is just to much for kids. As for selling it make me an offer.
well I finally picked one up, 1989 model, was parked 6 years ago in a shed, kicks over fine, they were premixing the fuel, decent tires plastic only has one crack, seat needs recover, I'll get it running this weekend, this is for my girlfreind she wants it pink and black since the plastic is in go0d shape I'm just going to paint it, needs a new oil drain plug, dotn plan on modding it out, jsu tmake it nice for her, if any bodys got any sugestions as to fixing it up without making it a racer let me know, I got it for cheap but plan on hanging on to it, I love 2 strokes
frame is clean, engine fairly clean , rear end a little dirty, had a nice size wasp nest under the seat that almost took me out,lol I'll post more pics as i gt it cleaned up and runnin

Wow, thats a nice lil machine. If you dont mind me asking, how much did that set you back? I think you should take off that front headlight and put two 55watt light up front like the banshee's have, that headlight just looks out of place.
well...... I got 350 in it,
It ran when parked, now I need some help
cleaned the carb, everything looks good, put fresh oil in the case, new fuel lines, fuel filter, put about 1/2 gallon in pre mix, turned everything to on, AND KICKED MY *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* OFF!!!! nothing!
the spark plug looks old and junky, I picked up a plug today but the stupid *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* at the yamaha place gave me the wrong plug, and I cant really test to see if it firing with me standing up and kickin on it
so...... say if I still hav eno fire even after a new plug what then??
I have checked all electrical conections and everythign is in order.
hmmmmmmm.. tomorrow
ok after looking in bike bandit for a while I notcied that the my blaster doesnt have that crazy looking thing above the carb, wth? I pirated a carb the other day off a blaster in the junk yard with that on it, and it has some kinda switch on it is that my problem? do i need to hook up that switch? any ideas?
ok i edited this post, Its that stupid TORS unit well the last owner forgot to ttell me he deleted that but never ran the wires for it, If you dont conect the wires NO starty four whellie, so.... in the morning I will get it stightend out,
ok got another problem (kickin a dead horse) apparently over time from sitting, the engine filled with water, well I got it drainded out, everythig looks clean no corrosion or rust any where, I think the oil got into the water and kept everything decent inside, but i'm sure that it hurt it somewhere, I will be putting it back together this after noon after a good dry out upside down (lol) hopefully it will kick off,
oh well sometimes you find a gem and sometimes you just got dirt
SWEET DEAL! Dude, that is awesome. Yea, let everything dry and try that.
well... one more time I kicked the dead horse, and like a SHAMAN it sprang to life!! after three or more years sittin and the crankcase filled with water I brought the beast back to life, now I need to do some adjusting and cleanin and my gf will be ridin! yay, i'm proud of myself, thanks code!

well, it already has the "right" rear tires on it.
Glad you got it running.
A buddy of mine had one for years and through the woods, he could hang with anyone and leave many.
Reliable machines as far as I know. Only gripe most people have is that they're small.
You can prolly get disc brakes for the front fairly cheap if you're so inclined and get a new hood with the integrated headlight. Not sure what year they made the improvements to the blaster with front discs and the new hood, but I'd imagine you could get the parts on eBay.

I was just looking at the pictures again, and I see some kind of tank just under and back a little from that grabbar, what is that little tank there for?
oh that tank was the oil tank for the 2 stroke oil, yea that got taken off real quick, I'm in a firm beliver in pre mix that way if I wreck the motor it was my fault, Yea the tires are kinda worth it they help the littl ebeast hook up..
now that i got it running, I found the "real problem" that caused this thing to be parked, they said that it started sputtering and dying so they took the carb apart and worked on it couldnt stop they problem so they parked it,... the stator is on its way out, It gives anough spark but after you ride it for about 5 mins it dies, let it sit for about a min or two and it starts right back up without missing a beat, soo... needless to say I will be putting a stator/ and a new coil in for it I cant have it cuttin off all the time with my gf on it, also going to ditch that stupid light and put on some warrior or banshee lights, and just paint all the plastics, maybe later just a pipe silencer combo, and a few other things but no major mods
OK HEEEELLLPPP!!! i CANT GET THIS DAMN rotor off the crank shaft!!! its frozen on there like a MF'er!!! the threads are stipped so a puller will NOT work!! and I have already broke one puller trying to get it out, I have heated the rotor up a few tims and sprayed every thing you can spray on it to loosen it to.. AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Im not worried about the rotor gettin trashed, I'll just pick up another one but I do not want to hurt the end of the crankshaft cuz then I will be screwed!!! I thought about wleding bolts to the rotor and hooking up the puller again.... ANY SUGESTIONS!!!!!
HEHE! The typical cant get the flywheel off. Well you can do it the fancy way or the redneck way. Fancy way is to buy a flywheel puller. Redneck way, 2 small pry bars, one on either side. Put alittle pressure on them. Then take a punch and put it in the center of the nut. Now take a hammer and give it a good tap. Should fall off, dont force it though, you could damage stuff.
nope not the same code man, you mess You cant tap[p the center thats the crank! and Ive broke a puller allready and you cant put anything on the sides thanks to the blaster side case
Oh, that's right. It's a YAMAHA.

that thing on top of your carb is a rev limiter. Trash it its not worth a crap and buy a motion pro carb cap and cable. As for your rotor you are going to have to buy another puller and buy a good one and keep trying it will come off!
I dont have the tors system on here it already has the motion pro deal on it with the drilled in idle screw for the carb, and crap! tha tlast puller cost me a 50!

there are options, The Motion Pro flywheel puller part number 08-0026 is what fits the flywheel and sould pull it off with a little help from some PB Blaster. The other Option is similar to what Cody was saying. Get a 3 jaw gear puller and adjust to down to a 2 jaw system. Put your crank nut back on but not tight. slide the jaws in the slots in the flywheel, then run the center pin into the crankshaft. That way might pull it off but i dont recommend it as much as i Do the MP Puller. If you paid 50 bucks for it then someone got you. I have one in stock for 19.99...

Oh, that's right. It's a YAMAHA.
It doenst make a Damn if its a Yamaha or not, all machines Flywheels are connected to the Crankshaft, Thats how it works....

I was just seeing if I would get flamed by some of the yamaha guy's.
well the factory style puller will not work as the threads on the rotor are adios! and as for using a jaw puller the are to large to fit in between the case and the rotor, I have come to terms that i'm going to weld some heavy bolts on the actuall rotor and hook the puller up to them, I have continously heated the rotor and sprayed pb blaster/ wd 40 on the shaft, I may destroy the rotor but I can get a new one I'm just afraid of f'n up the crank threads

well herz my new parts, got to love EBAY! I got the complete stator system for $61 shipped!!! and its a brand new factory part!! the rotor/flywheel for $66 shipped! and thats a factory part now i'm waiting on 2 littl ebolts form the yamahs dealer and then I can get this pile looking good for my GF!
also look how junky the older parts were, el cacharo!
well got the damn thing going only to run into another problem, I have to rebuild the top end in it, so... Im jsut going to do that bigger bore new piston a few things here or there, and back to rippin it up
we'll her she is!! done!! Its definitly for a girl!!! lol, the motor is been completely redone, 40 over wiscoe topend, and a vito's 3mm stroker crank, new bearings, all new seals, new electrical, It run the stock carb, stock exaust stock muffler, but it still rips!! runs 31:1 93 and castor 927, ALl she wants now is some pink grips, and soem pink shock covers, and this winter I will repaint the frame and suspension, then this thing will be like new.
everything done including the whole engine rebuild and I have less than $1000 including the purchase price, not bad huh?

What colour pink is that? I think a white frame and pink a-arms/swinger would looks great!
well I found the only pink material I could find for the seat then I took a peice of material to my paint shop and matched up some pink paint to paint a few peices, Im thinking a pink frame and silver suspension when I do it

dico fast treckers 18x11x8 some of the best tires on the planet and not all that expensive
go with the turf tamers instead they hook up alot better on the blasters. i used to race a blaster in the early 90's. i started with those exact tires then went to a set of turf tamers and it hooked up alot better also get the 18x9.5x8 ones
got some new tires for the blaster and chain and sproket
I went up to a 14 tooth front sproket wich helped alot
the front tires are a new Duro 19x6x10 leopard mx tire, there cheap and they RULE! as for the rear thats self explanitory! FAST TRACKERS 18x10x8 the chain and sproket was $76 shipped the front tires were $96 shipped and the rear were $78 shipped I dont think thats bad for $254 some people pay that for just rear tires!

Not bad at all. I love my blaster. It needs a little more go juice but thats coiming.
I have rad reed cage with boysen rees fmf full exhaust and fmf jet kit in it. It runs like a champ and is very reliable.
And thats coming from someone who is 6'3 185 lbs. Its a lil small but so fun
If you take the front rims off and spin them around it will give it about an inch wider stance on each side just so you know. I am sure you new that though.
Just my 0.02 cents
Yours looks great very well done at a very nice price

I just got done thrashing on a 2006 Special Edition blaster today, like 6 hours! Man I feel you about those things being fun. The SE was bone stock, got it up to 55 on the paved roads around town, was doing stoppies and wheelies and bicycling it all around the place!
Nice pink blaster! That thing looks wicked, even if it's kinda girly! I'd rag on it!
lmfao!!! I guess I forgot to mention ITS MY GIRLFREINDS!!! LoL!!
