I have just done one coat on my bigreds tank of this redkote stuff, it is a brand new plastic tank but i have put this stuff in so it does not peel the stickers off the side, due to permeating gas..How many coats of this stuff do you guys recommend?
Thanks
Matt

I've done two tanks recently. I found that about 1/2 quart did 1 tank. I used it pretty heavy. I poured it in and rolled it around all day (every 1/2 hour or so). You can do as I did and "prop" it up into different positions to "dry". Pull all your filters, petcocks and anything else. Then cover the holes with tape while you roll it. It take about a week for it to dry if you go as thick as I do but it is only 1 coat. Pour the excess out at the end of the first day. Just my opinion. Good luck!

I also did about a half quart for a 200x tank. Same as davbrink said. When it was all coated I used an air nozzle on the top with my hand to blow the excess out of the petcock hole on the bottom. Stuff works great.
where can you get it? I used Kreem on my ATC 110 tank, which worked ok, but it sounds like this stuff works better...

Seems good so far. Looks to be exactly the same as PVC plumbers glue.

Do an ebay search for "red kote gas tank coatings". There is a seller called harleysandvws that I got mine from. All sellers do it for about 28-30 bucks a quart. The stuff is amazing.
Good luck.
