I just brought home a 86? 200X today, its in good shape but the motor is in a bunch of peices. Tranny is all together, but the top end is "bad" (needs rings). I was thinking of swapping in a 300 or 400EX motor into it but I'm not sure how much will need to be fabbed up. Any of you guys know if it works or what I could do to the X motor to make it faster (aside from major machine work). Thanks a lot guys.

Sorry I can't help you out on the motor swap questions, but I just recently bought an 86 200x... I noticed the question mark by 86 so....You can tell that it is an 86 because of the square tubing frame, and the 6 speed transmission.

Top end job is easy. I'd say, fix the 200x engine and save yourself a lot of money and headache. The best engine for your trike is the one you already have. If the tranny is good then your in good shape.
