Broken Honda 250R Cases

It seems as though when I browse through the engines on E-Bay looking for a new one, ever engine seems great untill I get to the last part which states that they usually have case damage. What gives?

isn't that what a case saver is for???????? I threw 2 chains and no damage, on my crf450r hybrid I threw a chain, no damage, the chain got thrown not long after(without a case saver, as the mounts were broke) and lots case damage done. But no case saver mounts is a common thing.
