Ok, I have a dilema and need a little input from the experts. I have 2 85 Tri-z's, one is in pieces right now is going to be a modified trike. The other is a very clean yellow/black 85 with a lot of original parts on it. Do I continue to be nickel-dimed to death restoring it? {at which point I won't want to ride it and ruin it} Or do I just keep it as clean as possible and ride it? Granted, once the other one is running, I can park the clean one. But, then what is the point of keeping it?
Let's see what you are working with?

I agree, unless its like Tom Batts's original 350x, I don't see a point in not riding it much..

personaly i build them to ride them, dump a bunch of money in them and then ride the hell out of them. Thats the fun of it! even nice oem machines need to be ridden from time to time to keep seals from dry rotting and other moving parts moveing freely. I dont have a all orignal oem tri z but if i did I would shure as hell ride it! just not as hard as the others, So i would say keep it clean keep putting money into it, ride it.. or like 85ytz250nj said you can sell it to me and ill dump money into it. LOL

Thanks Guys, but I'm not sellin it! I am going to keep riding it, but keep it as clean as possible. I probably won't buy plastic for it though. At least not yet. In fact, I just ordered parts for it today. I appreciate the input and will post some pics soon.
