Anything can outrun anything if it is set up correct. But as far as a stock '84 250R I doubt it. Now put a bunch of money and the right sprockets on it and that changes things. My '85 beats most Banshees I race and EVERY Raptor I have raced. It is just how you set it up and what you want it to do.

an 84 250r wont beat a Raptor, I have owned both bikes, I use to own a 84 250R and it was fast but not that fast, I own a 2002 Raptor with FMF and K & N products on it and it is BALLS Fast. I also own a 85 250R with big bore and everything and want to race against the Raptor on a 1-2 mile drag, to see which is faster, I love 250r's, but a lot of people say that they can beat Raptors easy, and thats because they dont have good acceration as 2-strokes, but let me tell you, Raptors are fast and I can claim that because I own one, 5th gear it is a bat out of hell. I am not trying to think all big of the Raptor, because I love my 1985 250R more than my Raptor but, I think Raptors are a little underrated and dont get enough credit, come on, 660 cc's THATS BALLS.

250R's FOREVER

14/36 sprockets on a 250R and bye bye Raptor...............................Like I said it's how you set it up. Change the Raptor gears and bye bye 250R. Down here in South Florida it is mostly straight line riding so top end speed is king. There is no lets race from here to there, But we all line up on the asphalt and hold them wide open and see who lets off first. The guy up front wins.. Easy as that!

ccs has nothing to do with how fast the bike will go its how you have it set up. take the honda foreman 400. 400cc of power not speed. lets see here i saw a kx 125 smoke a banshee because the dirtbike was setup better. anything is possible when you have a setup bike to ride. the rider has alot to do with it also. just my thought
