Anyone run a Pro X piston? Did you have good results with it?

I had a weird experience with them. I cracked 2 pistons in a row. They cracked down the top of the piston. I couldn't believe it. I went back to Wiseco. It's a forged piston, not cast like the stock and Pro-X pistons.

I have used them many times in 4 stroke machines ( Honda ) with no problem. The Pro-X rings and Honda rings innerchange with each other, so that is another plus!!
Never put one in a 2 smoker though.

They are good pistons.....Used them many times. Cast pistons set up right last much longer than forged in stock or mildly modified machines. Forged are better suited for higher compression, nitrous, or other extreme motors.

I have used Pro-X in everything, 4 strokes and 2 strokes. I have one in my 250r right now and so far I havent had any problems. I cracked a Weisco in the same machine however.

I'm doin the 240 big bore on the 06 Blaster. Rather than go 1 over size from the stock piston I think I'll have more fun with 40 more cc's. I'm not sure if the cast piston is suited for this application. Needless to say I WILL push this machine almost to its limits. Is the cast piston an alloy or steel?

I run them in my 85r and have had great experience with them. Being that it's cast you can run a tighter piston to cylinder clearance than the forged Wieseco without the related problem of seizing. I'm running .020 clearance in my R. Try that with a Wiseco and you might as well send me the money you just spent on the top end. Don't believe that a forged product is any better than a cast just because it is forged. I know people that run Pro-X's with UCCR's ranging from 12:1 up to 16:1. Just do your homework and make an educated decision.
