Well unfortunately Sept is coming quickly and I dont have a firm answer on if I or others can make this trip. I hate to sound so "wishy washy", but trying to get a group to go is harder than I anticipated. I will keep you up dated if anything comes around. Worse case, if we decide the last minute then we can pitch tents somewhere. Thanks bra and yes I did get the pics and they look good. Now time to find some money LOL:lol:

My buddy has an MXC 300, what's the difference between his and yours?

The EXC has a wide ratio and the MXC has a close ratio. The MXC is more of a MX style bike with no headlight or tail light unless added. The EXC also has a lower 1st gear and higher 5th gear, makes it perfect for woods.

Isaac added a headlight, so his is an MEXiCan? LOL

How does a taller 5th gear make a machine good for woods? You really gonna go 75+ through a woods trail?

Nope I was just stating the differences. In fact I have never seen 5th gear since I have owned this bike. When I said great for the woods, I meant the low end grunt not the 5th gear......geez Im not that fast hahaha:lol: .

Shoot, I can putt the MXC around on the tundra and such in 1st, it's not geared too tall. LOL Yeah you'd need to be pretty damn good to hit 5th in the woods on one of those beasts.

Ktm has gotten silly with all of their lettering on their bikes it is hard to tell what is what anymore. They quit putting headlights on from the factory after 2005, due to stricter 2 stroke emissions standards, any 2 stroke that is sold new now must be labeled as closed course etc and appear to be like a mx bike pretty much. Alot of manufacturers simply ended production runs such as kawasaki with the kdx which they made forever, the 220 was discontinued in 04 or 05, and the 200 still available in 05 and 06 but won't be made for next year etc. With the ktms I've heard alot of dealers still do install lights, on some models, or will at a fee, and all models except the sx come with a lighting coil so they are capable of running lights. At any rate, now they make the exc F's still which are the four stroke line, and they make the mxc's which are close ratio trannies as scott said, and stiffer suspension etc, they are more geared towards harescrambles and gncc racing where there are jumps or some mx stuff etc rather than strictly woods trail riding or enduro racing, but they do still make the xcw which is basically the new version of scott's bike, minus the headlight. W I guess for wide ratio tranny, and the sx is still the mx bike that they make. Alot of the places we ride, take a really low gear, snotty off camber and rooted uphills with no takeoff room etc, the majority of it is 1st and 2nd gear stuff, my bike has a 2 tooth bigger sprocket on the rear now a 50 tooth and I intend on probably gearing it even lower, or at least having a 12 tooth front on hand to run I think scott is like me, we haven't even ridden anywhere yet that we are able to get out of fourth gear really so topend speed is pretty worthless

I have a 97 300exc and around here I get into 5 gear quite abit but its ussually where the trail turns into more of a road. but I normally put it in 3rd and leave it.one thing about them is they have a pretty high top speed it must be about 100mph or close to it my buddies quad can do 70 and i fly by no problem
