Hey everyone. I went to a Vintage Japanese Swap Meet and Show in Jefferson PA, at the White Rose Motorcycle Club. I saw a couple atc pieces and picked up a factory manual for the 350x cheap. I found a BW200 that I had to take home cause the price was right.

I haven't had it out in any wide open spaces, but it has a 5 speed and a clutch. Kickstart only, the later bw200s' had electric start. It still needs some detailing and it has the wrong size rear tire on it, but I will be making it nicer. it is a nice bike if your a shorter rider and it still has some nice suspension travel. If you like mud and creeks, it rocks. If you can find a deal on one, get it, they are a load of fun.
I know that B-Dubs are cool in their own right. But I've always thought of getting one to convert to a trike.
Great Score! :w00t:

What parts do you need, I'll keep my eyes open. I also have a couple of pcs from riding sunday, but my buddies kids hijacked my bike and camera, I need to delete most of the pictures as they are not fit to be posted, don't trust teenage boys with your digital camera. You know you can still get alot of parts for these things from the dealer.

Man, somone just parted one out on ebay, some parts were not even bid on. I can tell you that a patched up exhaust system went for $137 not including, I mean like patched by it had plates welded on to it in about 3 spots. Keep your eyes on the bay. The spark plug is NGK D8EA, at least on mine which is an 1985 as near as I can tell. I have to download and resize the pictures of my buddys' kids riding it, it will take some time as I don't have highspeed. The carb says "made in japan" and what look like "7K" or "TK" it is hard to tell and no other marks that I can see right now. I will have to take the seat, rear fender and side covers off and examine more closely on a nicer day, it is raining cats and dogs here in Baltimore, Maryland tonight, tropical storm Ernest is here I think.

Here is the one usable picture that I can post of the bike running. Never trust teenage boys with your bike or digital camera! Notice the lack of helmet, which their father and I werent' happy about. Also the not seen part are the pictures of several of their areas below the waist which I guess they just thought was all to funny! I was thinking about forwarding these to the nearest federal penitentiary and enrolling both of them in the prison pen pal program. Now I have to pay them back for thier warped sense of humor. I wonder if they have one of those my page picture albums. A little photo shop action and I'm sure all their friends will be impressed, LOL. They got me good.

My friend used to have a BW200 some years back. Be bought it brand new from a dealer as a 2 year old unsold leftover. His was the last year made, Im thinking maybe late 80's, early 90's? It was a lot of fun to ride. It was slow, but powerful. I climbed the infamous "Chicken Hill" at Wellsville with it. In all honesty it handled horribly, but you could put your feet down flatfooted to save yourself as it wasnt very tall. The spongy tires and suspension made for a nice cushy ride. It didnt handle much like a bike, pretty bad really, and they arent a good choice for a serious rider, but for the guy who isnt out to prove anything or preserve his ego, and just likes to have loads of fun, these things are a blast to play around on and trail ride in the woods.

157778157779It's been a long time since I "officially" updated this thread. Since then, I got my seat recovered by MRS. Mosh. I had installed a tri z disc brake front end. I pick up some nos parts that I need when I find them. Still haven't found a nos rear fender though. I did have the stock triples redrilled by Mike at HRE for the tri z fork tubes as the tri z headlight and stuff, just didn't look right. Well, Gazoo came by today and we removed the tri z triples and installed the bw200 redrilled triples and some nos parts that I had. Put new front wheel bearings in the hub and put updated bearings in the steering head, so way better. Had an 86 and later front fender and headlight surround and dash, all nos just waiting for this to happen. I had a braided stainless line on the tri z front end, but it's a couple inches too short for the bw triples?. So I will have to put together a semi custom braided line using motorcycle braide line components. Please excuse my basement being a mess, as is the rest of the house! LOL Hope you like the pictures.

Tri-shee, Sorry it took so long to get back to you. The front tire is an Ohtsu H trak 25 8R12. I believe I got it from a member on here. I took off all the adapter wiring I had to tie in the front Tri Z headlight and have the original BW200 wiring hooked back up. Glad I took the time to make the adapter pieces and not cut up the original wiring. Now, I just have to find someone that can polish out the original rear fender as I just haven't been able to find a nos rear fender. Now with all the new front end bits, the handlebars look like crap! LOL I need to get a decal kit as well. I do have a nice used swingarm that I was thinking of powdercoating and putting all new bearings and bits in, but I don't know.

If anyone is looking for parts, I listed all my plastics on eBay this week. 4 rear fenders, 2 seats , 2 tanks and 3 side covers. None starting over $40. These came off 2 1985 BW200's. I still have almost everything left over - swingarms, brake parts, carbs, airboxes, cdi's, frames, front/rear wheel assemblies, triple trees, handlebars, forks, etc...
I'd like to get rid of all this stuff soon, as I am relocating Spring '13. My prices will be WAY cheaper than eBay. PM me with your wish list. I can email pics of whatever you want. I am located in western NC in case you'd like to come and grab all my parts for $200.
