I finally got my rubber "unplugged" honda manifold from ESR today so I yank the old boyesen RAD valve off and put the spacer under the reed cage. I really wanted to put it ontop because I already have tons of low end but we will see.

Anyway, having some problems getting the airboot to pull toward the manifold enough to be secure. I didnt realize how long the boyesen was. I have had the 38 striker on for months but now am comming up short on length with the slightly different angle and length of the ESR stuff. I am dying to see if they hype is true but cant stretch far enough to keep this stuff tight. I could probably do it but im sure after a few runs with vibration and bumps it would pull apart. ANY IDEAS?

Second, any comments on reed spacer placement? Normally its for moving power lower but if you put the spacer inbetween intake and reeds would this increase top end?

Last, Ive had a moose head gasket on ever since I got my top end back from Port and Polish. I used copper spray and torqued to spec and torqued again after a few days but have always had moisture along the left half of the head gasket. I have ridden it a lot over the last few weeks and every time there is fluid along the head gasket. Its not much and doesnt drip and my coolant level hasnt dropped significantly but it bugs me and I wonder what is going on.

I have a brand new OEM honda metal head gasket. Is it worth the trouble of changing for just a slight bit of moisture? If its not coolant what the hell is it? I have been unable to get a dry crisp tan jet. They are still a little wet looking even with a 170 main and airbox off.

Thanks guyz

Well, no responses but I figured most of it out. I took the airboot off the box, got the carb cranked in good on both sides then put the boot on the box last. Much easier and has held up good so far.

The ESR reeds changed my trike a ton! When I first fired it up it revved like crazy and I had to turn it off and adust. I was able to richen the air screw and turn my idle way down. My first riding impression was kind of mixed. The ESR reeds didnt have as much low end punch and made my trike more "pipey". Before with the Boyesen RAD and no spacer it was like a 4 stroke, just had constant power everywhere but couldnt really feel a transition into powerband. The ESR reeds made the mid and top stronger and there is a definate hit now where it just romps through the rest of gear (and launches your from wheel strait up in the air). It is definately faster now. My needle has been in the middle though and I think that dropping my needle down will crispen up the low end and make it pretty bad azz again. I like the ESR speed and top end power but it was cool being able to gas my wheelies up sooner with more low end torque and control. Like I said though, I am way rich in the low mid now and bet I get that back with a clip adjustment.

yeah, those reed cages are built for top-end only, i run one on my alky motor, but watch the reeds they like to crack if you hammer on it daily. also, if your running all of this performance stuff, just take you airbox out, save some weight and run a k&n with an outerwears on it. works great, and the outerwears keeps water out, trust me on that, lol....
