I finally got some new tires yesterday for my birthday. Went to go put em' on and they said I need a o ring for the rims. I call suzuki and they said they dont make o ring for it. Does any1 know where to get some or is there some kind of sealant i can use to seal it up? I cant ride till i get them.:cry:

To seal the tire to the rim? Um yea i think you need some sort of gasket to seal 2 peice rims. Maybe beadlocker? If you cant find any go with innertubes no need for an o ring.

No, not to seal tire to the rim but to seal the rim half to the rim half.

yeah i never was too get mine ever sealed. i just got tubes and put them in. no need for the seal

I've done it both ways, tube and tubeless.
If the O ring isn't squished flat then lubricating it w/ bead pack will usualy seal it.
no bead pack? try vegatable shortening (crisco) don't be skeered, smear it on heavy. new o rings should be availible for not too much $$$

I ran into the same problem recently with our 125m. My solution was finding some one piece, steel aftermarket rims made by Douglas. Easy to mount up and no tubes, no hassle. That o-ring with the split rims can be a real hassle. Just find out your bolt pattern and finding some wheels should be no problem. Run a search and I think you'll find a chart for bolt patterns on here. Good luck, nothings worse than a flat out in the boonies! :(

Salvage as much as you can of the original ring-----Then PACK the slot with wheel bearing grease, lay the ring back in place and bolt the hallves together. Ask the Military guys how the Hum Vee tires go together, Cuz its basically the same on a smaller scale. If the ring is completely trashed, Mix up a concoction of black RTV and Tire bead sealer. As long as you FILL the slot and a lil bit over and give it some "SQUISH" space, it should work out.

I just put some waterproof sealant in the slot and all over the old o-ring and it is so far sealed and holds air. Ill see how long that lasts.

First of all you should use the Parts Wizard on bikebandit.com to find out whether your wheels originally came with o-rings in the center. If they did not, then check out some of the Hondas, because they did. You may find that many of their o-rings are the same part number, which means you could use any one of them. I don't know why you would want to rig up a major part of your trike, when you could just buy the right part. If the wheels are clean enough you absolutely do not need anything bu the o-ring. I am proof of this, and many old-schoolers will tell you the same thing. There is a technique to putting the wheels together, let us know if you need that. The key is that both surfaces are clean and prepped. The prep is always the most important.

O-rings are not magic.
If you have even a small chunk of an old one.
You can take it an a wheel half to a good hydraulic supply shop and they should be able to help.

Dude, just fill the space up with RTV silicone and that's it. That's how my 110 was, and it held air fine.

Nah, my father is the boss at Dow Corning, and he has all the tools to make any O ring size. That's how I get all my o rings for my paintball gear.
