I've heard something like this about the TRX... but never about the ATC. I very much doubt it's true.

I doubt that any 250r, 3 or 4 wheeled can be built to honda spec since the key parts to a oem build are discontinued, key switches, helmet holders, stock clamps, small brackets, switch clusters, decals, and many more small parts than we know of. I'm told the front and rear brakes are gone, rear masters. I found that the brackets for the front plastic are gone, along with gas tank mounts. I highly doubt it can be done, 10 years ago, It probably could have, but very slim chance now.

Also the have discontinued swingarms. The only way to get one is to get a custom one, ebay, or hopefully a local atv shop might have one in stock.

They (servicehonda.com) takes a modern CR250R engine and puts it in a 400EX frame, with custom mounts for the engine and radiator.......
They do NOT make an ATC250R, just TRX's..........

No chance like deathman said there are many many parts that are discontinued now...and some of them key like a red fuel tank, seats, brake masters,etc....
i looked into the ex-250r conversion.they take your ex and install a new subframe, yank the four stroke motor and drop in the cr 250r motor.all this at the bargain price of 4 grand:wondering . it is a novel idea for the quad, but heck you can buy a nice pimped out 250r quad for that much and keep your 400ex.as far as the trikes,no way can i see it ever happeneing. no company even wants to take the liability risk of making one.

I tried to order some of these parts, about 2 years ago and they were discontinued, I know 88/89 cases are gone along with tranny parts and ifyou can believe it, stock base gaskets are gone too, lots have them in stock though. the front and rear brakes have been gone for about 3 years.
