Picked up this Blaster for LeeAnn. its a 1998 200cc 2 stroke. It has a fresh 280cc rebuild he said it had enough hours to be broken in, and a fmf fatty header pipe.

Its rips pretty hard for such a small quad. My knees hit the handle bars when i try and turn it.

It rips hard except at the top of the rpms it hesitates and loses power. it had a tank of gas in it, the guy said it was 32:1 mix. maybe thats a little rich you think?

im not a 2 stroke expert by any means so i really don't know what could be making it lose power in the mid/high rpms.

i couldn't make it up the big hill cause it was muddy and the tires just blew away everytime you give it gas. it needs turf tamers like the trike haha, i can scoot right up the hill on my 200x.

LeeAnn has already done about 4 almost backflip hardcore wheelies on this thing. she is crazy, she wheelied half way up that hill until she let it fall down and then spun and got stuck. She was also spinning cookies in the neighbor hood park and i know the neighbors are going to be pissed off lol

Im going to be buying a new trike in the next couple of weeks, i still really haven't decided on a 350x or a 250r or one of the tri-z. the power of the 2 stroke is nice but the no mantenience, quiet, and regular gas of the 350x is nice too.

oh, it also needs a kickstart lever, so i have to push start it now which is lame

Is the oil injector removed? Surely, cause if he put 32:1 in there and the injector is still pumping oil in there too, could be running really lean if it's just jetted for the oil injection.

yea the oil injector is removed, and the guy told me it was in running order. so it may be something stupid.

im going to check the plug gab. any suggestions would be nice

280 huh? never heard of a 280 kit, only a 240 kit from vitos or ct racing, I run 32:1 in my gf's blaster (dead right now) premix 93 octane, castor 927, no probs with that, it's at the shop (cyl) getting bored over tight now.

im not really sure what it is exactly.

he specifically said "280" and he had a lot of machines and sounded like he knew what he was talking about. im sure its possible if there is a piston for it.

i dont know for sure, but id really like to get it running smooth

Dammit!

Pop the airbox lid off and see if the problem gets better or worse. If it gets better, you're jetted rich. If it gets worse you're jetted too lean.

well, i took the plug out and looked at it and it was a little dirty, i cleaned it off and it runs all the way now and rips pretty hard. pulls the wheels up in 2nd. not bad for a blaster. gf loves it as you can see:

never heard of a 280...have owned three blasters and my current one has a "240 big bore kit" in it. but never ever heard of a 280. if it is i would like to know where he got it from and how much cuz i will be buying one asap and slapping that baby right onto my motor. but like i said i never ever heard of a 280, and i have dealt with trenga racing, and projectblaster and have never seen or heard of any 280!!!

everyone ive talked to has never heard of a 280kit either.

but i think anyone could bore the block out and stick a piston that fits in there if they can find one.

i test drove a 240 powroll kit blaster with pipe/filter/silencer and it doesn't have *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* on this one she has now! this one has a header pipe "280 kit" and stock silencer and it would totally *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* on that 240.

it lifts the front in 3rd gear or if i lean on nthe handle bars it blows the tires away

this is on non-pavement solid ground of course ;)

I saw a stroker kit not to far back, maybe a stroker crank and piston gets it to 280? never know somepeople get custom.

I love balsters good score.
