Just curious. I bought new 10 inch rims for my haulers today. They were out of blue labels and gave me black labels for the same price (black labels are the medium thickness). They are noticably heavier. In fact these rims with my haulers are about 1 pound heavier than my sand sharks with 8 inch blue labels and one pound lighter than OEM rims with 400ex tires on them.

I'm just wondering if I should have just ordered some blue labels. That would have been a pretty lightweight combo.

They sure as hell look nice though.

I've bent every thickness of 10 inch rim Douglas sells, I only run 8 inch rims now because of that.

Dammit,we ride some really rock terrain. My z has the 190 thick wheels on them, and a rail buggy clocked me 2 weeks ago on the rim and barely scuffed them.He got a face full of roost for his efforts:mad:

I hit a rock on my 350x hard enough to seriously bend the +4 Durablue I was running and the 10" black label came out okay. The outer bead is slightly deformed but it still runs straight.

i hate my douglas blue labels, will never buy them again. i ride my blaster in an old sand pit that was used by a cement company, a few rocks here and there, nothing bad. but my front 10" right side rim is dinged, not bad, but noticable, and my right rear 8" rim is really dinged, suprised it still holds air. going with itp's on the tecate, and as soon as i can, i will be ordering up some itps all the way around on the blaster. douglas blue labels suck, thats why they are so cheap to buy.

What size? I have heard before that the 10's are the weakest. The owner at R ATV Warehouse told me he gets a lot of complaints about the 10's. :wondering

I have 8 inch blue labels with my sand sharks but the rim has plenty of protection if it's an 8 inch with a 20+ inch tire and the smaller the diameter the stronger it will be.

I've got a blue label I'm putting on the front. Should be fine up there I would think.

Id say its a pretty good mix between 8 and 10's. Most people are riding on 8's because they give a softer ride (more sidewall for cushion) and you save weight by running more tire and less wheel (mainly a concern for hill drags). 10's do give you more eye candy bling though:) Unless you are gonna be gettin some really serious air jumping I would be comfortable on blue labels in the dunes.

I wouldn't run blue labels for hard core trailriding or mx. Not strong enough.

Damn Doug, when did you go all RICE on us!?!?! :p

I'm kid'n, I'm sure they'll work... uh, I mean LOOK PIMP out in the SAND.:naughty:

The only tradeoff I've heard of is that you'll keep from spin'n the paddles outa alignment with the 10s, while I'll need to adjust mine on the 8s every so often. I can't believe your say'n that they weigh so much more than 8s either, I'll have to feel that for myself cause the 8 paddle haulers on thin 8" rims are HELLA LIGHT IMO.

If we ever ride together sometime, hasta happen this year IMO  , we can trade wheels for a ride to really see... I've never riden with 10s.
