At one time my 400EX oil smelled like gas when I changed the oil, but haven't noticed it since.
I guess, it's possible, if yout running rich the unspent fumes could be absorbed up by the oil.
Is this on your 200S? Are you still running the snorkel system? Make sure you have a good clean air filter and that the motor can get plenty of air. You may be rich.
Also, if you don't already, try to turn the gas off each time you park it for the day. See if that helps.

Have you checked the plug after you run it a few days? Just a thought. Plug checks cen be very confusing.
So you got a stock air box and stuff now, that's good.
Could it be your rings? Just a thought.
I too would like some info on this my self, i'v notice that in my oil to (gas smell), and my spark plug is a brownish color, so it's not burning rich:wondering
I know it's not my rings, because my compression tester says 156 PSI at WOT

, because my compression tester says 156 PSI at WOT
Huh:wondering
What do you mean WOT? Are you meaning that you help the throttle open while doing the test?

how u get a reading off a guage at wot ????
simple. 3 people where needed here, one to pull the bike over, one to hold the compression test and one to hold the throttle open. It how the service manual said to do it.

So, your compression was 156 psi. It is usually assumed that you did the test correctly, with the throttle open.
the max was suppost to be 149 psi...Kinda makes me worryed about it being that high. see i just replaced the head on it about 3 week's ago..When i first pulled it over it all most broke my hand (little did i know she hit TDC), So i made 100 percent sure my valves weren't hitting the piston, and they weren't...so out came the compression tester.

I'm gonna sit back and see what others have to say. I'm kinda stumped.
Is it VERY strong smell of gas? or just a hint? Just a hint of gas may not be bad. Dunno.

its not strong. its only a hint but ive never had this happen before.
Your floats are sticking open, with the fuel left on it will drain into the crankcase's, Probably Just dirt in there from not running a air-filtre, the rest of your motor must just look Peachy.

carb needs to be cleaned and turn your gas off when its not being run and see if that helps

--??? well too much blow by will cause this- ( fuel getting by the rings)
--the needle and seat being wore out-letting fuel flow in the cylinder and -past the rings into the oil
--oil not being changed in a long time
i dont know w t f your talking about -with the cam?-- stuff/it has to get past the rings ,not the cam
