EDIT!!! Apparently it's a Durablue. Just as rare. Perhaps more so since I still haven't seen a clear pic of one yet.
Since these things are more rare than albino crocodiles, here's some pics of a freshly restored Westcoast (edit: DuraBlue!) swinger for the 2nd gen Tecates.
Metal restoration and decals by x.system, fresh powdercoat by Glendale Powdercoating.
Special thanks to the dufus that sold me the Tecate (http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=46140&highlight=tecate)this thing was on for a hundred bucks. :banned: :D

That looks really nice. Could you explain the reasoning why the Westcoast swingers are so highly sought after. I understand that they are rare, but do they have some handling benefit that I don't know of? Is it extended or something. Sorry if I sound dumb but I was too young when three wheelers were being sold to know much about aftermarket stuff.

Other than just being extremely rare (especially for the 2nd gen T3's) they're just really well made. Very slick design, the welds are nice and clean. Just good stuff.

They really aren't seen on ebay too often lately, I haven't seen one on there this year actually. Cal-fab is definately a really rare swinger for the second and first generation Tecate.

Both of them are long gone actually. This and a couple small pieces are all I have left. I already have my R and three project trikes. It just didn't make sense to take on another.

What other pieces do you have left?

Kickstart assembly, full clutch assembly (good amount of rust on the steel parts but the basket is pretty good) and a clutch cover.

Hmmm... now there's some confusion as to what this thing is. It's either a Westcoast or a Durablue. Anybody got confirmed pics of either one for the 2nd gen T3's?

Very nice piece. I'm sorry I can't help ID it but I figured I'd post what a CalFab one for a 1986 T3 looks like. I've got my T3 just sitting in the corner of the shed waiting for its turn to be restored. Once the 70 is done and the TRX is sold I think the Tecate might be in for a long overdue restoration. I bought that swinger on ebay (I think a +2") along with a Durablue axle (I think a +6") probably close to 5 years ago and even back then they went for a pretty good buck.

Dammit that thing would look good on my tecate. Wouldn't you like to see that swinger cruising the dunes? :naughty:
So what do you plan on doing with it? Gonna hold it till you can find a decent tecate to resto and add to your collection?

Should have powdercoated it blue and bought some durablue decals instead. Thats not a westcoast swinger.
My 2nd gen tecate westcoast looks nothing like your swinger. Its more like all the other westcoast swingers, narrow in the front and thicker in the rear.

This should be a Dura Blue.
I have an unidentified one in the shed and 80% sure it is the same dura blue like the one you pictured.

Yeah I was definitely wrong about it being a westcoast. Actually I didn't know what it was when I got it. The popular opinion at the time was westcoast. Sucks about getting the color wrong but oh well.
Post pics of the one you have if you can just in case this ever comes up again.
