I finnaly found what i want. A 250sx. The guy wants 500 for it. He said it is his favorite and nicest bike. Brand new rear fenders and seat cover. 200x fornt end. Rear brakes work. No front because he said he doent use his front brakes. Tires are about 75 percent and all hold air dont leak. Starts right up with the electric start with no smoke at all. All gears work and reverse does too.
Im going the check the bearings. Straight axle. misses in engine, backfiring. etc etc
But someone told me something about them jumping in and outof gears and not shifting and stuff. What do i look for? I need to sell my spare 350x engine to come up with some money for this. Also i am parting my 86 200x for some cash.
Thanks!
Craig

ive owned 2 85 250sx's, and i had to replace the swingarm bearings in both, i dont know if it was coincidence or if it is a problem with sx's.... never had a problem jumping in and out of gear or it not shifting, make sure you check that rear end oil before you go riding, i trashed the gears back there because of low oil on my first one, thats about it though, hope this helps!:beer

Check the rubber boot on the swinger and if he'll let ya, check the oil in the rearend. The rear diff can be expensive. SX's only have shifting problems when powershifted or when a certain pin in the engine breaks off which is an easy fix. Other than that, just look for the usual crap.

just check for clutch slippage, swinger bearings, and front bearings. Hope ya get it.

Alright, and after i get it, i want to mod it out some. I think i might fab up a 300ex aftermarket exhaust for it and use a 350x carb. and figure something out for the rear shocks that i hear suck *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited*

yeah, my old sx was a little bit of a rougher ride than my 200x, but hey, it was a beast, exhaust? that'd be pretty cool mine was totally stock, put some pics up when your done with it
