Just a few quick questions about the rear carrier and axle bearings On the Zook Lt230. What side does it slide out on? Do I take the rear sprocket off or the brake disk or doesn't it matter?

you should have loosened the axle nuts before you pulled the rear end! now your gonna have a hell of a time etting the off! unless you did, then forget i said anything!

the bearing carrier slides out the sprocket side, and the axle slides out towards the disc.

so you have to pull the sprocket hub off, and wheel hub to get the axle out.

Man that's what I was afraid of... Most of those sprocket bolts are rounded BADLY! So should I mount the carrier back on the swinger.. to take those bigass nuts off?

yes, it will make it easier for you. this way the axle isn't rolling all over the floor.

you can't take it off the other way, because the disc hub is part of the axle, well its just pressed on, and won't come off very easy.

use a torch and a monkey wrench and they should come loose. also a chisel should help, knock them loose.

you don't have to remove the sprocket, just the 2 nuts holding the sprocket hub on.

Looks like I'm going to need a bearing carrier as well. I discovered the damage after I got the sprocket off. Anyone have a good carrier and the rear sprocket holder thingy? :wondering

I guess this happened when the chain popped as you can see where it gouged the carrier... wtf?!

So that carrier just slides off the axle then? It has been many years since I replaced bearings in a carrier like this so i'm really not sure. There is a grease fitting on there so one would think it wouldn't be frozen? Idk..... any suggestions?
