Im in the middle of my project Z, and want to do something with my axle, funds are short, cant buy a brand new one.

This axle is fine, splins are good, straight, and good threads. It has a little bit of rust on it that I want to remove. Will it be okay to just take a wire wheel to it?

After the wheel, or whatever method, should I seal it up with something to prevent future rust?

Thanks,

Eric

You could get the axle re plated. Prices vary, so shop around first.

Hope this helps ya.

After you clean it up, clearcoat it. Mine was done that way and it looks pretty nice. I didn't do the work though, so I'm not sure what type of clear was used. I would imagine that you could probably just use something out of a can.

I have some Laqure clear coat right now. I think I will take that route.

Thanks guys.
