after reading "Carb Jetting 101" by Dammit, have a couple of Q's

Hi, i read that thread and put a fairly new plug in (not the usual tho) but the ring only had a very light glaze on it, that is simular to the oil i'm usen. i am useing Amsoil Interceptor @ 40:1 w/92 octane. The 40:1 is just to b safe untill i get this carb right...The bridge was black when i put the plug in and when i checked it the sides of the bridge are brown (good)

So i guess i only have 1 Q
lol what should i do?

i don't have a way to get any jets today as everyone is closed :( but i can mix my gas alittle richer :twisted:
i'll be playing with my trike maybe riding it in about 6 hours from now

oh forgot to mention i want to end up at 50:1
mods are Rad Valve, FMF Fatty w/PowerCore, Uni filter w/ lid on

i used proper plugs this time and the first time the bridge was grey? so i put alittle more oil in the tank, an ounze or so (full thank) then it would just foul plugs every half hour..the plugs wouldn't foul untill i shut it down and they cooled off for 15-20mins..but the ring would stay like new!

What do you mean by 'bridge'? If you plan to run 50:1, RUN 50:1. Don't add oil to the gas based on how a plug looks. Mix up a fresh tank of 50:1 and run it for a few minutes. Pull the plug and look deep into the electrode. It takes several minutes for the color to start coming down to the tip. If the color is brownish, do a WOT plug chop, remember you will need a new plug and warm the trike up for a couple minutes, and try to be able to have a stretch of road to go WOT at least 2-4th or 5th, so you can have several seconds of WOT to get a good color reading. You may have to take a hacksaw and cut the threads off of the plug to get an accurate reading. You will need to order a few jets to be ready for this. Let us know how it turns out. Always remember, Jet to your mixture, not mix to your jetting. Find the mixture you want and jet to it, and run that mixture all the time.

You want to target a nice tan brown colour. To light a colour and you are running lean to dark and it's rich. You can't adjust your air/fuel ratio by adjusting the oil mixture ratio.

by bridge i mean the electrode grounding strap..i'll be picking up some main jets tonite, thinkin 144 up to 155 or 160, don't think i'd need pilots

i was out riding and had to ride home so i just added more oil to b on the safer side...
