Trying to raise that post count aaye bud?? Real helpful....

Best way is to use the real puller that costs about 12$. Almost any shop has an aftermarket one for sale or bring the motor/ATC down there and have them yank it for 5 or 10$.

Yes, were all in a hurry to tear that motor apart but it isn't worth being impatient. Some people thread the bolt in a bit and tap it with a hammer while prying at the flywheel. Many cranks have been ruined by anything but the real puller so thats what I suggest.

Yes, I may be going out on limb here, but Im gonna agree with the $12 flywheel puller. ( I think I paid $6 for mine way back when) They sell them at any bike shop, ebay, dennis kirk, rockymountainatv, etc, etc. Youll also find that that same puller works on about 90% of all Japanese two strokes made since the late 1960's.

you think napa has a puller or does it has to be a ATV Store ?

2 minutes away from Napa Auto parts

30 minute drive to ATV store

You do have a service manual dont you????----

The specifics about the tool will be listed in the manual. If not , browse the net for one that will work---copy the part # and descriptions. Then try a few more sights. --once youre reasonably sure you know which one you need, Go to Napa and ask them. Parts guys get all excited when you know exactly what you want, and they dont have to search for it!!!

you need to buy the special puller that threads into the center by the flywheel nut and i bolt thread into that piece and tightens agianst the end of the crack.

dont use a 3 jaw puller

Jason, --do you remember the Specs on the tool, My Yammie used 27mmx1.0 left hand thread male. Like TimSr said most of the 2 strokes are interchangeable, but just to be sure.

i,m not sure what the 2 different threads are i know it's reverse thread in the part that goes into the flywheel then the piece that threda into that is regular smaller threads.

the puller fit's 250r's atc and trx's , 350x 250x and 300ex quad. it fits atc 185's and 200s also

i seen them on ebay for around $15. just look up "250r flywheel puller"

anybody out there with a old 83-85 200x you can use a extra front axle for a flywheel puller the threads are the same.

27x1.0mm left hand thread.

Dennis Kirk motion Pro - PN# 28-282 $13.99
Dennis Kirk - Unnamed brand PN# 28-1953 $10.99

Ebay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/250R-Honda-ATV-Flywheel-Puller-New_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43977QQhashZitem130 036252296QQihZ003QQitemZ130036252296QQrdZ1

As I said before, about 90% of Jap 2 strokes made since 1960's use it.

You cant buy them at an auto parts store. They are a bike specific tool.

Now comes the beer and sledge hammer!!!!!!!

Seriously, unless you have an impact wrench,..... I have found a medium sized breaker bar , the correct socket and a hammer do work. Looking at the flywheel , set the breaker bar up so it points at 9:00, and whack it repeatedly, resetting as needed.... It will come off.
