I ran the harescramble yesterday. I would estimate we had 15 quads today with 3 sets of teams the rest of us ran itron man. I was 3rd on the holeshot. Then the 2 guys in front of me got together both of them killed there engines. I had to wait for them to get untangled so I could go. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN. It means I was dead last coming out of the first turn. I imeddiatly passed both of them guys within a few hundred feet, both were on yfz's. It sure does amaze me that if YFZ's are the best, fastest quad out there why I can pull on and pass everyone that I race with. After about a half lap I caught a guy on a 400ex. He was blocking so bad it was unreal they are told not to do that in the riders meeting. I followed him for 1 lap at a snail pace. Finally after haulering nice things to him and revving my engine at every turn, I hit him so dang hard he knew I was no longer playing around, and I got him passed. At that point I knew there was no way I could catch the leader. I passed a bunch of other guys after that. Then I didn't see anyone in front of me forever. I was finally catching the 3rd place guy when the checkered flag came out. If we would have had another lap I would have caught him. I need to get one of those trail tech speedos so I know how long I have been running because I would have swore we had another 15 minutes to run for sure.
Racing sure is fun but it stinks when bad luck hits ya. Next race on Nov 5th, I don't plan on going for the hole shot if they run the race the same direction again. I'm just gonna set back and watch the inevidable crash at turn 1 then I'll go to the outside of the crash like everyone else did today.
