I have a question, I pulled the right side motor cover off to work on it, the kickstarter rod and gears popped out, there was a spring on the end of the rod, I put everything back in, now the kickstart arm stays in the up position fine, but as soon as I start the motor, it falls all the way down and makes an awful clattering sound while its running. Did I put the spring in backwards or something?
Thanks

Well I'm pretty sure the noise your hearing is the kickstart gear grinding with the flywheel. I haven't worked on my 250es big red motor, just doing a lot of other work right now, brakes, bearings, etc.
Do you have a manual? If not your in luck. Do a search on this forum for "manuals" and you'll see a thread on where to download a free .pdf manual for your sx.
