I've been working all day on my 1980 110 (for my son). I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times but right now my mind is drawing blanks.

First I had to put the right side case back on as when I first got it running there was something rolling around in the case, like part of the clutch or something.
Took it off after having hell with the phillip head bolts. Had to drill them and I used a torx bit to get them out.
It just seemed the clutch wasn't adjusted right or something because one little bearing plate and spring was off the clutch.
Anyway, I put it back together per the manual, new gasket and bolts. Put oil in it and got her running.
The main problem is it will run a few minutes then die like its running out of gas. I ran it with the tank cap off, adjusted the pilot(?) and air screw several times. I had taken the carb off before and cleaned it though it was very clean. Checked air filter also, seemed clean. I do have a carb kit and a new air filter that I have not installed yet.

It also seems like it may be flooding. I put the bike on its side a few times and let the gas pour out the carb. Let it sit for a few minutes and it will run, the same way.

So what do you guys think? I'm tired of messing with it for now. I might get on it again sometime this week. I usually just spend a few hours each weekend on these 2 trikes. Slowly but surely.

Well I guess I'm on my own on this one. I guess I'll concentrate on the carb first.

pull the petcock and check that its not clogged. I rebuilt a 185 once, painted up the tank and let it sit without the cap for a few days. A bee died inside and clogged up the petcock. It was doing exactly what you described. It would sit for a while and slowly refill the bowl, take off and it would die after a few, over and over. worth a shot anyways, Dave

Thanks Dave. Yeah I was planning on doing that. The petcock on the 110 is on the carb. I didn't check it before, hopefully just a clogged filter.

if its running for a few mins, then just dies, your burning all the fuel in the carb.your jets are fine,just not receiving enough fuel from the tank to the carb,i'd check the tank and petcock.if the bikes were sitting for a long time with gas in em *Edited**Edited* you bought them it could have gunked up the tank and carb.

i had the same problem with my 110 the nipples on the tank and the valve on the carb were both plugged try cleanig those i tride to reply *Edited**Edited* but i dont think it worked so if there is 2 for some reason that is y but try that

Try it w/ the cap off. I don't remember the early 110s but the 83 I had as a kid had a vent switch to let air in, if it was off it would do the same thing and not let gas flow fast enuff to the carb. If it runs fine w/ the cap off it might be the vent plugged.
Just an idea to try.
