ok heres the deal i can get a keihin pwk 38mm its been offered to me realy cheap but here is the question i have. the carb is from a suzuki rm250 and so it has some sort of wire/solenoid thing attached to the side of the carb, im not sure what it is for or if was even connected on the rm250. i want to use the carb on my 85 Z but there is no wiring going to the carb on there now so im sure i wont have anywhere to connect that wire. does anyone here no what this wire is for, and can i use this carb without the wire attached to anything on my Z? in short should i stay away from this carb and just get a standard pwk carb or they all have this wire? thanks in adance for any input.
here is a pic of the carb

i think its a position sencer , if thats all i dont see why not ,your bike doesn't have it
its not like your taking a standerd carb and puting it on the sencered bike ,then it would need it ,
is that all its for?, will it have a air leak with out it?

ITs a TPS sencer all the new bikes have them, The 450 carb i have on my 350X has it also, Its just a sencer so it wont hurt to not hook it up. TPS stands for Throttle Position Sencer and it just tells the newer bikes where the throttle is. It will work just fine not being hooked up.

yeah, call up sudco or a carb shop and tell them what you have done to your motor and they will set you up with some good jetting, get mains one up and one down from what they recommend in case its a little off...

it might also be for a powerjet, it releases a plunger that shoots gas into youy carb. It hooks to the dirtbikes electrical harness.
