Does anyone know for sure if a stock 300ex axle will work on a 350x?

yes!
I know its not as wide.

Does any one know how much shorter it is?

what I am thinking if its only a inch or two and it will fit you can get aftermarkets that are plus four inches wider than stock for a 300ex. If the stock is only 2 inches shorter then I could go after market and gain 2 inches......

Thoughts?

Durablue has allot of really nice axles for the ATC lineup. One problem is that they are very very expensive. 400EX 300EX 450R axles are saposably the same, i'm not sure but thats what i have been told.

Link to main axle page (http://www.durablue.com/prods_axles.shtml)

300ex axles will difinitly fit. my friends has a RPM 300ex axle in his 350x he just has to use the 300ex wheel hubs now. he broke a extended durablue 6 month then got the 300ex one.

Thats what i was wanting to here. You can pick up a + 4 300ex G force axle for 200 bucks. Much cheaper than the dura blue.

I recently did this swap. Everything fit fine except for a little difference in the brake rotor hubs. Something in how long the 350x hub was or the spline length made me have to use a couple of washers for the caliper bracket to make it centered over the caliper because it wanted to put pressure on one pad but not the other. I think this swap would be much better on the 86 model because it uses a 300ex style caliper bracket to hold it in place. Not for sure but just a thought. Also if you are going to buy a g-force axle it is still going to be a couple of inches shorter than the 350x +4, and the g-force does not include a sprocket hub for the low $200 price the last time I checked, and along with the sprocket hub purchased it would be getting pretty close to a durablue +4 350x axle.

www.team-ind.com has there 300ex adjustable compitition axle on sale for $139.00

they even come with the sprocket hub. you need to buy the team industries hubs to run the compitition axles as the spline count is specific for those 2 parts.

for the hubs go to www.kandkatv.com and look up the firestick hubs that are used for the firestick compitition axle. they are on sale for $69
