I've been starting to look into an ebay store (not for trike parts). Never done it before so can some of you that do this break down the real pros and cons for me?

I looked on ebay at the details of it but there's some things I'm still not real sure on. I would be getting the real cheap one at 15 bucks a month or whatever but what are the insertion fees and final value fees and everything when you have a store? Is it the same or is the monthly fee all you pay or what?

From what a few buddies told me, they have jacked up the prices majorly for ebay stores. He closed his down and just started selling single auctions and said he saved like 500$ for around 150 auctions. So I guess it just depends on what type of exposure you are looking for.

A friend of mine that has a store says it is definitly worth it. I dont know the costs but he said the main thing was you could throw an unsold item in your store for a BIN only and it will sell without having to relist everytime. Oh and it stays on there for 30 days.

I don't care what people are charging in their stores. My prices will be the same wether in a store or not. I just need to know is there a decent savings to ME if I get a store. How much can I expect to save on insertion fees, final value fees and any other fees. Basically, is it worth paying fifteen bucks a month for it?

Well, I use to run 2 stores on ebay, one was for a computer company and the other was for clothing extras we had around the screen printing shop. Last year, they decided to raise the prices for the store front so I dropped it. Our profit margin couldn't warrant keeping the clothing store open and the computer stuff was high end stuff like servers (not alot of home buyers for that stuff)... so I dropped 'em both. You can make some good money but you have to know what your margin will look like for either auctions or store. Have many pieces of what your selling are you going to move each month? How much will you make off of each sale? If you can give a solid answer and not an estimate, plug the numbers. Ebay has a whole page explaining the fees. Hope this helps.

to be honest the prices could be half the price of the auctions and i would not know it, i just no longer look at the stores. i read that ebay is trying to weed out the stores so they will keep jacking up the prices.
