On an 85' 250r, the 12x110 bolt that fits through the double linkage arm, the lower shock mount, and the single linkage arm--mines bent and I need a new one. The part number is 90125-HA2-000 but ServiceHonda says it's dicontinued and unavailable.

Will the equivalent bolt (also listed as 12x110) from a 86-89 TRX work? Part number 90125-HB9-000. I haven't confirmed if that one is available or not.

I'm looking for an answer soon so I can add the TRX bolt to my order before the rest of my stuff ships.

thanks.

Well, I talked to ServiceHonda and the TRX bolt is available. They're prices are the lowest I've found anywhere but they are not forgiving when it comes to changing an order that's already been invoiced. Because of that I had them go ahead and send me the TRX bolt with my other stuff so I don't get hit twice for shipping. It was either add the TRX bolt now or get hit on shipping by waiting to find out if the TRX bolt will work.

Hopefully I didn't just waste $22 and the TRX bolt will work.

I think your going to run into a problem, about 1mm to be exact but since you've bought the bolt already we now have someone to show if it works or not :D I'll buy that bolt from you if it doesn't work, say $10 shipped? :naughty:

Dammit went over this problem a while ago. I just checked the lower shock bolt holes a couple weeks ago, heres the thread.

What you can probably do is make a new bushing to fit into the bottom shock link and then you can run that bolt. I'm running a TRX link on my ATC and I had to make a new smaller OD bushing. Don't see why you couldn't do the opposite.

I used a TRX link and bolt and had to drill out the lower shock mount hole to 14mm.

the 86-89 bottom shock bolt(atc and trx) is bigger in diameter. I use trx parts in my bikes. you will need a complete bushing kit, pivot works sells them. I might have 2 new 85 bolts, I have to check. let me know if intersted.

Thanks. I do have a complete TRX linkage rebuild kit from pivot works on the way.

I removed 1mm (19mm down to 18mm) from the OD of the new TRX bushings to make the TRX bolt work with my 85' ATC linkage. I also had to enlarge the bolt holes on the shock and enlarge the holes on 2 of the old grease seals and reuse them. All the other TRX bushings and seals where a direct replacement.

It was a PITA to mod the bushings. I'm sure it would have been easy with a lathe. I secured each bushing on a bolt and chucked the bolt in my drill. Then I clamped the drill in a vice went to work on removing material with a dremel. It took forever but they came out just fine.
