hey guys i got a question. i working on a friends suzuki jr50 that has been sitting for about 15 years. its a two stroke. i was wondering if anyone knows how oil the tranny holds. theres no check window on the case and no dipstick on the filler hole plug. sometime ago thier basement must have flooded because the 15 year old oil was a little water down.

surprizing thing is it still runs when i put a little mixed gas down the carb hole. carb is trashed , corroded and cracked in places, looks like someone jb welded the crapp out of it, so its pretty much none fixable. so a new one is one the way, i hope to have it running this weekend once i find out how much oil it holds.

Look on the engine case, the oil capacity should be stamped on it. There should also be a check bolt on the side of the engine.

Good times,
Paul

ill have to look again but i do remember that it says 366 or something like that on the case. the only bolt i remember seeing is up by the kick starter, all other bolts were for the side case. but like i said ill have to look again.

My neighbor has one of those!!!! His kid rides it daily. I'll holler at him as far as the capacities, and I'll post the results. Gimme a day or two.

It says 450 ml on the side of the case. My buddy says he'll drain the oil, then, put just a little under half a qt. of straight 30w oil in there when he changes it (every 6-8 mos.). He has been doing so with great results since 1990. Bike runs great and is a daily rider.

Hope that helps
