There is snow on the ground and it has me worried about getting through the snow. Has anyone built a nice ski for the front tire of a trike?
I seen a pic of a 200 atc with a ski. What about 250r zs and kxts?

I was thinking of keeping the front end down.
Like a reverse wheelie bar.

i seen a picture of a bike with two ski doo ski's welded to together and all he had to do is strap it on to the front tire. Looked to me like it would work.

So you got snow to did you. I live in Newfoundland and we are still getting snow as i write this now.

Im thinking of using a snowboard for my ski.

Snow board seems like a bad bad idea
I dunno if you ski or snowboard but a snow board surface is flat with beveled edges
if you throw a snow board on the front tire when you go to turn the out side edge is bound to make and aggressive cut and roll the atv. When the front fork turns its totally different than a snow boarder leaning. Snow boarders basically stand on one edge of the board when turning. If you could find somthing with a more prominent middle, namely a skag, and less agressive edges you would be far better off

Check out the snow hawk web site and imitate their fork and ski design is my best advice. Get a used flotation ski off of ebay

Thats alot of weight up front.
Its not that hard to remove your front axel.

I don't know what you want a ski for anyways. The fat front tire will keep you floating over most of the snow.

AdBoivin, the manufacturer that produces the Snowhawk would be the place I'd look for a ski or at least for design characteristics.

I was thinking of using the adboivin ski but $$$ is now an option. How does your tecate handel the snow Big Green? How deep can the snow get befor your screwed?

Depends on how soft/hard the snow is. Once you bury it to the carrier and theres nothing under the snow for traction your screwed.

hmm... just an idea.. yamahauler.. wouldn't your ski's rotate if the front tire is lifted, causing it to dig in when you hit, and make your face eat snow???? just an idea but i would put something on the caliper so it can't rotate AS far.. you want some movement, but i would definitely do something.. a bolt or something....

I was just going to zip tie the front break lever down...that should do the trick.

BGM..The front tire does float good in snow..you just cant turn. Thats what i find. This thing will probably suck *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* but im going to give it a go anyway.

I have a spare 84 front hub/axle setup that I'll never use. I may try to make a ski to put on it.

Thats what I have. the forks are way bent more then my 85 forks.
And put a guard so the ski can't come up and smack you in the face or hit the frame.
