I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a better rear shock that is available for a 1984 yamaha 225dx other then the factory shock. Will the tri-z shock fit ???? or is there an aftermarket shock that is better???. Was just wondering. Thanks in advance. Glenn O

Been a long time since I have seen a 225DX. I had one back in 83 before my Tri-Z's. I remember vaguely that there was some aftermarket choices. I ran a Works Peformance ( I think it was them) rear shock that increased the rear travel about 2 inches. I also ran some different springs in the forks with different weight oils. It made a huge difference in how it felt. Try to find one that is the same overall length etc. or see if someone will rebuild and revalve the stocker. 225's are a really good bike. Good luck!
