YFZ450's rip pretty good, there are good bikes but I'm weary on having one as I've known so many people who have trouble w/ them. Just take good care of her and she'll treat ya right. So what was the price before taxes ?

I have been doing alot of reading on it @ yfzcentral. It dont have anymore problems than any other quads. The price before tax was $5700 They even licensed it for me and i didnt even know it, Thought that was pretty cool. no standing in the dam dmv line for an hour.
Those stock, are pretty nice machines for trail riding. My only complaint was the steering stem needs to be about 1 inch taller.Stock you feel like you are too hunched over the bars. They do haul butt though. The only problems My buddy has had with his was the waterpump leaked once, and he cant keep batteries in it.But he took his lights off for racing.Leave the lights on it and you will be fine.We make some nice colored light covers for those too by the way:D .He also said a honda thumb throttle makes for a easier pull on the carb too,vs the stock throttle.Nice choice:drool:What kind of pipe you have coming for it?GYTR? or HMF?

For the 06 & 07 models they changed the sterring stem on them, they are taller now. I have a Bill Ballance HMF pipe coming for it and a K&N filter with a dyno jet kit. Right now being new and stock, it is jetted pretty dam lean from factory. Cant wait for everything to come. I guess you get good power gains from them mods.

to remedy the battery problem get one that for a Honda cbr900. it's bigger and stronger and don't short out like the original size ones.

My friend has the GYTR 450....his top end has gone out twice, crank froze up once and had to be replaced, started gone out once, and battery crapped out. I've rode them and they do rip hard, congrats and good luck. How many hours u got on her now ? Noticed some gains after breakin her in some ?

I have done alot of reading on yfzcentral and never read anyone haveing problems like that with there 450. I have read the raptors have some problems though. The YFZ's are great and fast. The Early YFZ's (as in 04 models, and only the first 100 or so of them) had a problem with the lower rod bearing and that caused crank failure, the newer ones dont have this problem. Do stay on TOP of the valves though, even though they are Titanuim, they do wear out oddly fast. If you get up over 55-60 HP I have seen them have problems with busting the cases. Overall you got a smoking deal on one of the best machines out there IMO no matter what anyone says. If I was you, let me call my engine tech for jetting recomendations and see what you need. Throw that DynoJunk POS jet kit on Ebay and get some Genuine Keihin jets. are you running with lid on or off your airbox?

I ordered the gytr jet kit from yamaha so i think they might be the Kehin jets. Im gonna be runing with no air box lid with k&n filter with the hmf slip on pipe.

They had a all yellow 50th one. I wanted it so bad!! But that one cost more and only got approved for so much. I might switch to yellow plastic someday.

Just installed a new (used) front blingstar bumper on the 450. It was close to dark out so the pics are not that great.
