I have a 200es Big Red. I am about to troubleshoot the hard shifting issue I have. I am going on info/suggestions found on this forum which leads me to the shift forks. The manual shows two shift fork and drum assemblies. One has two shift forks and the other has three. What do they do?Why is there two sets of shift forks and drums? One is shown in the "subtransmission/output gear" section of the manual and the other in the "transmission/crankshaft" section. Help !!!!!

"subtransmission/output"is your high/low range, theres a shift fork in there as well as on your shift shaft "footshifter".the problem with shifting would be qwith the shift shaft(most likely),is your shifter all loose and floppy or stiff, will it shift gears.

give more info

Thanks for that clarification.
Shifter is sloppy and sometimes won't shift. Intermittent problem. Is changing these shift forks a huge job?
