Hey,my KLT is a cold natured SOB!!!
I cant cut the choke for at least 2 minutes when the temp is down below freezing??
Dont know the temp there so I cant say that's it or if it's the air leak from the bowl ect..???
Just a thought though??

It could possibly be that but a lot of times it is a pilot jet that is clogged up.

With a jet clogged, this causes less fuel so the motor asks for less air which is exactly what your doing by running it with the choke slightly on.

Try the air-fuel screw 1st though. Turning it out gives the idle circut more air which might help some, or is it in, ahhh I forget now but sure someone will chime in.

Are you sure the carb is leaking and it is not just the float adjustment? Set wrong it can make it come out the overflow tube.

If it has sat for years and years with gas in the bowl it's best to dismantle the whole thing and rebuild it. Did you have the bowl off, know what it looks (condition of it) like inside?

OH, I almost forgot, it looks GREAT !!! I think the camera in the after shots makes the red look way too many shades lighter then it should be though. Try a few more shots, see if you can get the red to come out better.
