The pic of the fork shows how i recreated the factory look. The original finish on the fork legs was bad and there were some nasty nicks that had to be sanded out. Once I sanded all the nicks out, I kept going to a smoother sand paper. I tried sanding striaght up and down the leg, but when the clear coat was applied the vertical scratches looked like hell! I then sanded in a twisting motion around the leg and it now looks very close to a factory finish.

more pics later on in the project

Your trike is a prince dude. Totaly. You need to finish that thing OEM style, whatever it takes. It looks SOO niCE. Is this going to be a museum piece or a rider? I would museum it, and get a price tag and the whole thing but thats just me. Do what you will, but whatever your doing, keep on keepin on. That trike is AWESOME!

Frame: Omni (single stage) it's an 05 hyundai color. I sprayed it at our body shop
Swingarm: Omni (single stage) it's also an 05 hyundai color.
Engine : spray can from advance auto. I think it's called "cast hi temp", I'll make sure and get back to you.

Great looking start to the project!
I'm working on the same trike, you mentioned the paint you used is Omni single stage? can you give me a little more details? is it a PPG Paint epoxy based or what? I'm right at that stage for paint but haven't started looking at what type paints to use..Thanks!

It's distributed by PPG. It's mixed with hardner then reduced, 8 parts color,1 part hardner, 1 part reducer.

Paint: OMNI AE (acrylic enamel)
Hardner: OMNI 101
Reducer: OMNI MR186 (medium)

Before I put the color on , I uesd OMNI MP170 epoxy primer/sealer with MP175 activator.

As far as frame preparation, I blasted every last bit of original paint, then went over the entire frame with a scuff pad.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the info on the paint. I looked up on PPG's site at 2005 Hyundai colors and they list many different reds, do you know which shade of red it is..here is the link to the color shades
http://www.ppgcarpaint.com/paints-bymake.php?Year=2005&AutoMakerId=63&ModelId=63

do any of those names look familiar?
I think I know what shade of gold you used since there is only 1 listed but the red is my concern. The red you chose looks very close to what it should..great job again!
