86 200x cam vs 86 200sx cam?

is the 200x cam bigger than the 200sx cam? i exchanged heads on my 200x with a goof head from a 200sx and the sx cam is about .40 smaller is my 200x cam a race cam or is the 200x stock cam bigger than the stock 200sx cam? P.S. i put my 200x cam back in.

wellthe 200sx was a lil bit more of a utility biek so that should say something. and it was a hot set up when i raced the lil 200sx way back in 90 when i was a wee lil turd.

You are aware that .40 is almost 7/16ths of an inch right?? What is smaller, lobe height, lobe width or cam journal diameter.

So one or both lobes are .40 longer. Thats alot more lift but actually depends on whether it is the distance from the cam shaft center to the lobe tip or an overall change from the lobe rest area to lift. Bigger doesn't mean better, maybe it's just not designed for that motor and could bend a valve.

Call Honda or Bike Bandit and cross the part numbers..

Different cam profile for different applications. The bigger lift probably lets the 200x breathe a little better up top then the 200sx cam. The 200sx like mentioned it more of a utility atv but it was pretty capable of the beaten path. We had one several years back and it would scream but then again I've never rode a 200x to compare one another.
