plastic or metal?
alot of metal ones i see are rusted in side, dented up bad or just plain ugly and need repainted. i noticed clarke is making gas tanks, they are bigger then stock and cant use the stock tank shrouds either. i know what will happen to white plastic, its yellows. red plastic fades and in 20 years can be white. metal rull rust again even if repainted correct?
i will need a gas tank and have located bothe new plastic ones and old restored tanks. i did happen to find the best of both worlds on ebay with a plastic mold of a stock metal tank, its turning yellow though and i am unsure if you can whiten a yellow tank. i had a 97 CR125 with a new tank and with in 1 year it turned yellow and looked like crap. i gave a clack tank to my fiances dad for his tt600 dirtbike and it was new, it yellowed with in 3 rides. he last oem tank was all yellow and nasty also.
what do what?
