I like them. One of my friends has one, he has owned it since the early 90's and the only things that has had to be replaced were some wheel bearings and a CDI box, they are the typical reliable Honda machine. Another guy I used to ride with had one and he had the same good fortune. They make a good all around quad. They have ok suspension, brakes and power. Not a sport machine but you can move it around just fine. The biggest problem I have with it is that it is a little on the small side for me. I am 6'2" and feel a little cramped but the main thing is the foot room. The shifter is a little short but that doesn't matter too much since my toes usually end up hitting the front fender instead.

real good, any honda is good. These have full suspension unlike some other early ones, the mint the better, but hey even the beaters are ok just dont pay too much

I have an 86, it is my wife's machine. It's the perfect size for her too. The electric start and reverse is nice too. I love it.....plus you can not go wrong with a honda.

They are great running quads, not the greatest suspension but all the perks of electric start and reverse. You didnt mention your physical size, but they are very small quads, and almost a bit cramped, even for me at 5'7" and 185 lbs. For small guys, teens and women they make excellent trail machines.

I wonder how much different they are from my new Recon.

My brother in law has one. nice quad! Small not real fast but fun and bullet proof. Ive personally seen him wreck and roll numerous times and that thing just keeps going. Buried in mud and crossed creeeks with it and it still lives. For the abuse he has given that old quad and for it to still be running its amaizing.
Though not quite as amaizing as why my big red still runs. I think its a contest to see who will die first me or the machine. My money is on the trike running long after Im gone

I have owned both a 1986 honda trx125 and a 1986 honda trx250, so your model is right in between. These are the MOST RELIABLE machines that I have ever owned...period. They get the job done and will not suprise you. The suspension is as good as it gets for the age, but definately if you have the chance to get one of these machines, do it.

Just bought a 86 honda 200sx. It looks like it just came out of the box, I think it was a good deal at $1100. It has more power then you would expect for a 200. I also have a 85 200m, I have to agree with gunnar these hondas will live longer than me. My 200m has seen alot of abuse but has broken me more than it. It still starts on the first pull and have never had to clean the carb even with it sitting for 3 years

This is my 1986 250 this week. I have a 2004 recon 250 too and they both just run like a sewing machine ! Like grandpa n grandson generations.
Edit for the police of an unhelmeted parked in the yard photo. Sorry my dog was unprotected.
It has a lot to do with this thread. The 200 and 250 and near close and it's a testament to old Hondas quality. Move along if you're done now. I'm sure there's a handy report button for the proper steps to be taken instead of whining personally.

Ok whew. Been on forums for years and sometimes there's a crabapple. Couldn't tell you were kidding at first, and thanks for the reply back not getting mad. I was browsing the four wheeler forums this morning and this was the closest to mine I seen. I'll see you around more on the forums. Thanks. Cracking a miller light now [emoji2][emoji481].
