I did a search and it seems to me if I read right that The 1986 axle and carrier will work in a 1984 250R swingarm. Is this correct? Also can you use the x's rear disk and sprockets and such? Thanks for any help! Its good to be working on the old beast again! :D

I know the 83/84 250r stuff will fit into the 86/87 200x, I have that stuff on my 86 200x.

Hmmm... noone? I do know you would have to flip the axle, maybe I will just give it a try when I get a swinger...

Well I got a pic of the axle I removed to see if maybe someone can help me out by comparing it to the 250R one. Please let me know if you have any info! Thanks again! :beer

looks like this post kinda died, but i have the same question. I have a 86 200x swing arm, and an 83 250r axle, carrier, breaks...... Would this all fit in my swing arm? Which breaks do i use, which sproket? do i spin just the axle around, or the carrier as well. Also, which axle/hubs is wider?

I wouldn't put the swingarm on, as the shock and linkege is totally different. 86/87 200x's don't have linkeges. I believe the carrier will fit, axle defintely, hubs and brake stuff too, but you will need the brake stays for 83/84 250r. the 83/84 250r axle is wider, its a +4 over the stock 200x axle. the hubs on a 86/87 200x are offset 1", the conbination of the 83/84r axle and 86/87 200x hubs will result in about 47" wide.
