sport400 engine in scrambler trike?

Excuse my ignorance....Is the Polaris Scrambler trike an aircooled or watercooled, also has anyone ever put a sport 400 engine in the Scrambler trike. My wife has a 450cc big bore stroker polaris Scrambler, and I might buy a polaris if the engine would fit the polaris trike.

That would be a TON or work!!! The P3 is AIR cooled. I know they changed the ATVs alot after the 1st gen. The 85/86 P3 has a trans brake and the front swinger povit sticks into the trans case. I also know it is a seperate trans, not attatched to the motor at except by the belt and cover, not sure about the newer Scrambler.
It would be easier to mod a quad w/ a P3 tank and a 225DX front end. If you are going liquid cooled how bout a 84/85 T3 front end w/ upper radiator?

I can see the thread giving somebody the idea to build a Polaris 500 project. Predator engine in a Scrambler...hmmmmm. 500cc with electric start and reverse.

I didnt know how much work it would be, I figured that the topend, (if it was aircooled) was probably just as big as the 400L engine. The predator engine isnt belt drive though and my plans would be installing the engine where the aircooled engine was, and use the same belt config as stock. I will try and search the forums for some pics of the trike.... Are the polaris scramblers very expensive?

They are hard to find. Not alot of parts available. Let me know what pictures you need. I have a P3 together and then me and Sparrow (sammy) have 2 more complete P3s, but both are apart. We picked up the 3rd as a parts machine for his, I am going to build it w/ all the spare parts.
Howdy knows the most about them, he had quite a few and also has an old Trailboss to convert to a trike. I'm not sure if you could get a 400 topend onto the 250 base BUT... if anyone could I'd bet you could figure it out. Did you look at mine at TF06? it was sitting rite next to the T3, I should have let you take it for a ride. Swinehart has a nice P3 as well, it wasn't far from mine LOL.

Lol....I'm not gonna put the 400 cylinder on the 250 bottomend, I was just saying, I would guess since it was aircooled and the fins stick out that the 250 would take up the same space as the 400L engine. I would just bolt in the engine after making new mounts on the frame and use the same transmission etc. The T-3 was stealing all my attention.....to notice the polaris...

I seriously doubt you could find a P3 to put your motor in! Kinda hard to find.
