Sounds like a fuel issue to me. Check your petcock and jets for blockage.

I know you have changed them, but who knows what has been knowcked loose during the change. Put some compressed air through it.

good luck

have you changed the spark plug? a fouled plug will do that.

i have thought of a few more things.

1. clogged exhaust. i had a dirt dobber nest in one that was hard to find.
2. petcock stopped up
3. water in the gas
4. ignition timing if it is adjustable.
5. and like i said before the plug .

If you changed back to a 250 from a 300, which I assumed you didnt have this problem with the 300, your going to need to rejet for the smaller bore. Its that simple. You say its starts up. That tells you your stator/plug/wiring is all working. Your issue definately appears to be fuel related. Mess around with the jetting. Make sure you have your needle and float properly adjusted.

well if it was a true dealer installed 300 kit, it had a larger carb included with the kit, and you dont really need to rejet, as the larger carb on a 250 size wouldnt be detramental to anything, it would only increase performance, I believe that like 200x basket that its fuel and Plug related, MY 300 ran horrible then wouldnt run at all, I wasnt worried becouse I knew it was the plug that was no good, I replaced the plug and walla! instant perfect running! use the NGK BR8ES plug so if you are running a little on the rich side it can still burn the fuel with no problem, and since he switched bores, im sure that he had time to check the reeds as he was reinstaling them, but ya may need to double check them any way, I know the air foolers are bit more tempermental than the liquids, but they can still haul ass!

I changed to a stock 250 carb same prob. but now im trying to find out what this guy done to it that worked on it last it was running when i took it to him now its not its geting gas and fire but it pops back at me i'v checked timming , chagned timming, cheked timming, changed timming bla ,bla, bla, bla all it does is pop and spit I'M THINKING E-BAY SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

whatever it is, its simple to fix, you just need to take a breather and walk away for awhile (couple days) then slowly take everything apart inspect/clean everything test resistance on electrical parts assy then it shoud be runnin.

Kind of off the topic of this issue, heres just a quick opinion on spark plugs.

Sparkplug wise, I tune with the B8ES, then I run a B8EG. Those B8EG racing plugs are a bit pricey, so I dont run one until you have the jetting just right.

I definently noticed a difference between the B8ES's and the B8EG's. If you havent tried one, give it a shot.

Either plug or timing.just cause it starts doesnt rule out timing they will still start if the timing is off.check *Edited**Edited* flywheel key isnt sheerd im sure its not though as uve said uve changed timeing time and time again.also check for crank seals are they worn especially left hand side (transmission)is it wired correctly. change out *Edited**Edited* coil or your cdi for others and see wat happens.

Your silencer could be clogged up. Happens a lot.
