ok guys i cant remember if this was asked but has anyone here seen a 87 250R ? if so post some pics and proof. its bugging the hell out of me. i did so much searching online and cant find anything. ive also herd that there is a 87 350x out there. but i cant find any any solid proof what so ever.

I think the closest piece of info was the guy Petesatc found in Japan who had OEM white plastic he purchased from a Honda dealership,this was genuine stuff not Maier,there is a thread on it here somewhere.

Just a guess but I believe the VIN would have to have H for the 10th letter to be a 1987.

its bugging me guys i havent slept in 2 days because i have been thinking about this.

well what got me started is i was at my local honda shop and he has a 250R no big deal so i asked him "whens the last year they made the 250R" he said "1987" he said he had one as a model up till 1994 then it was stolen along with all his (at the time ) new honda dirt bikes and quads. but who knows if he is telling the truth. i do know for a fact it was broken into a few times. but i dont know what was in it. i was only 12 whet it all went down. but come hell or high water i will find proof that there is or is not a 1987 250R and 350x

not sure if you saw any of this.. its all from the site... we know for sure that the 1987 atc250r and 350x were built, but whether or not anyone in the states has one is another thing...

You say that it was stolen in 1994? If he had it for 7 years, I would bet that at some point or another there was a picture taken! Ask for a picture. Tell him its a big deal!

translation to any language would still be 1986 honda 250r. Honda is honda no matter where.

It seems like everyone forgets that nothing was banned for 87. Honda stopped making them, they were not forced to stop. I'm sure there were some pre-production moch-ups but there was no production. Things like brochures and parts manuals are part of engineering and prep for production, they are not proof of production. If Honda made them they would have sold them in the US just like the rest of the 87 trikes. The US was such a big part of their sales they would have had no choice. Look what happened after they couldn't sell them in the US anymore, they stopped making trikes all together for the rest of the world 1 year later.

I have a video that is from 86 and it has trike racing which was composed of all 86 R's and T3's... simply beautiful watching them racing around :w00t: After that they never raced I heard and that was the last video I ever found of them racing again. :(

A friend told me awhile back that there is an old guy around Atichson Kansas that runs all over the states buying up trikes. And that this guy ran across an 87R in Chihuahua Mexico while on vacation. I'll see if I can get the guy's number and call to confirm this and check if he has any photo's to prove it. I'll be going down to Mexico in late Feb. to see some family and I'll ask around about trikes while I'm there. I would piss my self if I found one down there. Oh! Didn't Honda have a factory in Mexico?

idk but man if you can get pics make sure you get a clear shot of the vin number. without that nobody will believe its real.
