DG GRab bar - Must removew tailight??

I broke down and spent the 50$ for a new aluminum DG grab bar for an 85 200X/350X, When I ordered it the lady said the tailight must be removed after the grab is installed. Have you guys heard of or had this problem? Seems crazy to me...

back in the 80s i ran a tail light with a aftermarket grab bar

It's because the bar is round and gets in the way of the tailight mount. Try installing the bar upside down though. I think it works and fixes the problem.

Geez, ya'd think they could design a 50$ bar that worked correctly....

I went with PRM on the grab bars,the rear standard bar is like $35.95 for a 350x/200x.
