Well I've been into cars all my life ,I had a old 74 Duster ith a 318 and a '72 Monte Carlo ,and a '84 Z-28 for muscle cars back in the 80's ! But I've been watching the Barret/Jackson auctions on Speed from Scottsville,Az and I am just in awe'.Last nite they sold a Super Snake 1 of a kind and personal owned car by Carrol Shelby for 5,000,000 .. Cars averaging 150,000 and drivers going for 100,000 .. I am glad too see that.. Kinda like our trikes,I hope the value goes up and up,if you think about it ,it's Kinda not exactly but Kinda the same concept that our precious trikes are heading,IMO.. FYI the auction is on again today,I don't think it's a repeat!!!

personaly I think people are stupid for paying those amounts, I sure hope thats not where the trike market is going. I enjoy riding my trike , how many boss mustangs or hemi cudas do you see being used as everyday drivers?

I guess in 20 years, if I have to sell my trike for $75,000 and buy a 4-wheeler I'll just quit riding.

There were two reasons that Cobra sold for $5,000,000. First, it was owned by Carl Shelby. Two, it was for charity.

If I had $5,000,000 to blow, and I mean blow, I wouldnt mind picking up a sweet immaculent 800 HP Carl Shelby owned 1966 Shelby Cobra.

What Barrett Jackson does is make what was a fun hobby so expensive, us regular folks can no longer buy or have any of the old really neat muscle cars. I have owned several hemis, six packs, 383's, 440's, 340's and many more. But no longer, due to people like Craig Jackson, he is an as@hole...

I agree. I think there is alot of hype that goes along with BJ and its that hype that drives stuff thru the roof. Both Craig and Steve Davis cater to the money crowd...
I've got no problem with the charitable stuff (like today's bit with Darrell Gwynn) but the more I watch it the more I see lots of "re-creation" or "tribute" cars and I start to wonder if the show is promoting a move towards knock-offs.

I'm just glad I bought my '66 Nova back in '86. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n158/madmax66SS/brtLS.jpg

... and third, only one of it's kind. Originally there were 2 but the other was totaled some years back.

Why Is Craig Jackson A A-hole. He Is Like Any One Else In The World Trying To Make A Living And Money. Dont Be Jealous.

The problem with Barret/Jackson auctions is that they set the price of cars for the year. As long as those morons keep running up the auctions and driving prices for average cars and trucks thru the roof, then the collectors market will keep shrinking to only the rich people doing it. Now everyone thinks there POS is worth 10,000 more.
