I am tired of dealing with slim tire selection, calling for prices from douglas. they told me for a red label $74 + $30 (custom rim fee) total $104 4-12 weeks. I dont mind waiting.

Talk to Derrick Adams on the boards, he has a custom rim 10in. He can tell you all the dimensions, wait time, blah blah and hes raced it all season so he can tell you how it holds up and all that good stuff.

I found Derrick's post and confirmed with Douglas the part number. I am awaiting a fax from them to confirm the custom wheel order and get the wheel rolling.

Thanks Ronnie. :Bounce This was a custom order. I would think they could do a different bolt pattern. They sent me a spec sheet I had to sign and return.
I dont have much going on this weekend, need to go to the sand drags and watch you git it rag!!

Ronnie, you can swap to the Honda 250R front hub on your bike and throw one of those 10" wheels on there. Plus the Honda hub is lighter!
They can't make the 10" front wheel in anything bigger than a 4x170. It barely works and you have to do minor trimming to the Hub at that.

.
NO WONDER THERE FASTER !!! ...
Yes ... i was thinking of that cause back in the day we used to run 12" grooved car tires on our "Z's" when Hill Climbing for height and weight to keep the front end down... one day we put a "Z" front hub and car tire on a ATC ... i WORKED !!
i have a spare ATC Hub and 11" rim ... i'll look into it ...

Well I finally got a chance to work on the hub for my douglas 10" rim. Just like Derrick Adams said you will have to do some grinding on the hub. Here is a couple pics. I have yet to get to the brake caliper.
You can see where around the wheel studs I had to grind down some of the hub. I kept grinding until it would go into the wheel. I also tapered the edge as the wheel lip had a taper as well. I tried to keep as much meat between the stud and the edge for strength.
I will also be getting new bearings from Dads.

I just called Douglas and they said that they are having a hard time supplying their current model rims to dealers and are not taking any custom size orders =( I don't understand since I am paying them MONEY to do it.... ?
The order number does show in their computer and they know what I'm talking about, I will try later in the week and hopefully get somewhere with someone else

Try contacting Boubin Tire/ REAL WHEEL. They specialize in sprint car wheels but thats where I got the stuff to make my 10inch rim. They can also do beadlocks, which is unnecessary, but cool looking.

LT500 front wheels are 4x166 and have a 8mm stud.. the R is 4x170 with a 10mm stud.. so there is a 4mm difference.. but your right too.. only 2mm off per hole..

Mr Clean, I have a ton of front forks lying around. I can shave the front brake mounts and polish one for your duner if you like. Can also machine the front hub to eliminate the rotor mounts and any other excess weight.
Oh yea, what's with the clunker in the background??? :beer
You need some JL Audio for the trunk?
