Well I know its not a trike, so please don't ridicule me...i'd never have sold the R if I didn't have to.

I picked up this 87 trx 250r thismorning, it will need a little work but hopefully not too much. A good degreaser bath and I will be able to see what i'm up against....Can't wait to be up and riding again, feels like its been forever, and the dunes are callin my name!!

First order of business, clean the carb and put a brand new throttle cable on it. ;)

supposedly thats what the issue is...guy had put a bigger carb on, didn't have the right cap for the top of the big carb, took the throttle off, bought an odyssey and quit messing with it when he found out he needed to get a new throttle cable and cap....but like i said, we shall see.

Get it going sista! If you don't I'd like to know if you'd sell the top end of the motor ;)

Just a little TLC and you should have it running no problem

That is sweet, the only four wheeler I would ever want is the 250r 86-89. I know what you mean about the dunes calling you, I cannot wait until May and Coos Bay. Post some pics from your first ride when you get it straightened out.

he kept the big carb, i took the stock carb. thts what i was gonna put on it anyways.

but my question is, I didn't see a spring in it....can I use a spring out of any other round slide carb or does it have to be out of the exact same carb?

Awesome. If I ever were to get another quad it would be a 250r for sure, or maybe a 92 lt 250r.

Isn't the stock a flat slide like a 86 ATC 250R?

I saw you in the dune video. You are gonna rip that R up:cool: Glad you got another bike

We use to have a beautiful 92 LT250r for a minute. Wish we had never sold it. But, we got a nice coin for it and my brother in law has it now, so I can still see it and ride it. That bike bite him with the Suzuki bug. He picked up a 88 LT 500 and totally restored it. The thing IS show room condition. He just looks at that one.

yeah its a flat slide, dammit...so wait then is there no spring? i'm used to the round slides....either way their is no slide. lol. Here are some cleaner pics...Kinda gave it the once over.
Has a K&N filter, full PRM skid plates(swing arm and engine plates are off for cleaning in the pic) on the whole thing, was caked with sand so they duned it last, had to pry the petcock open but now it turns on and off just fine, nice case saver and brake reservoir covers, pull cord kill switch, old school maeir rear disc gaurd, and a clarke desert tank.

like i said before nice trx, even better looking cleaned up. what size tank is on that thing? looks to be in awesome shape for an 87, great score!!! nice to see a lady on a quad or trike, but nothing like a lady on a "2stroke" bad ass bike like that. enjoy it.

the tank holds 4 gallons....should work well for longer rides I've normally had to take gas for. =)
